Everything is delayed: products, 18A, 14A, layoffs, all plans. LOL. What did Intel do in the past year, just achieved various delays.

@a9 Hang in there. The night is always darkest before the dawn. You will find success, at Intel or somewhere else.

@a1 it's been stated repeatedly by those who know what is coming for IFS.

It will be restructured to be comparable to a typical foundry.

That means possibly several years of reductions and people movement.

Anyone who still doesn't see what is coming should seek employment elsewhere, because Intel needs smart people.

@a9 I very much care about legal immigrants because I am an American. Which means I have immigrant blood, too. I’m so sorry for the stress. I share it, and don’t have the prospect of having to uproot my life.

Also, I would gladly trade places with you. Worst case, you go back to India. Hopefully you’ve been stacking paychecks. I know people who made the move on their own volition, and they’re retired for life in their 30s/40s. Hellllll
yeah.

F*ck materialism. You should be very well set. I’ll leave this country too eventually because I don’t want to afford the materialism, but it would be nice to do so and go somewhere that feels like ‘home’ in the way India does for you.

Oh, and if they send you home - should t your first move to be to stop paying bills? They’re not gonna deport you and then extradite you back here from there lol.

@a8:
Start thinking of how you can make money outside of your job and reduce your expenses to minimum. I started working during 2009 recession. I saw people losing their left and right. I couldn't shake off what I saw. I decided within few weeks of starting my work that my first priority is to stop depending on a job. I am not there fully, but it is something that is constantly work towards.

@a8 here on H1B, in addition to existing concerns i also have to find a job within 60days or I have to leave US. I already have a family and life here. It makes me sui-idal sometimes with the constant pressure. No one gives a fu-k about legal immigrants really

I have never posted on here...but this is so depressing and just disrespectful! It shows you what they think of their employees! I personally have no fight left in me...None whatsoever....I don't care how strong or confident you are of your work, to have constant threat of layoff hanging over your head for this long is not viable ...it is a mental health hazard...How do they expect me to work under such conditions? How? This was not part of my job requirement/description.....I have mouths to feed and i must remain strong....but i have nothing left to give in terms of remaining strong at work while those above treat me as just a resource without any humanity.
Please if you have a way to handle this, i am genuinely seeking PRACTICAL help....This is becoming a mental health issue....Life shouldn't be like this.
I have tried using this as motivation and that has sustained me this long, but i have ran out of motivation. I know, some might say look for another job and its a tough pill to swallow considering i have held on this long! All for nothing?? Please DO NOT respond to me if all you want to do is insult me...I am genuinely seeking help to figure out how others are getting around this.
Hopefully i am truly anonymous on here. I come here to get information and try to measure the mood of intel employees in general. But of-course i take everything i read on here with a grain of salt!

This was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional towards the techs and engineers who the C suite are banking on to make Intel a success. They're pushing out notifications of layoffs and teasing additional layoffs before even completing the current iteration, eg "Initial CPM actions will conclude by late July".

Clearly they expect to layoff engineers who don't comply with RTO, but this is gratuitous. Our CEO is a venture capitalist, so it shouldn't be surprising that building a leaner and more agile Intel means permanent austerity and layoffs, but to be so brazen about it is surprising.

@a3 they'll give you half of nothing.

Oh well, 4 paychecks left. I don't anticipate that I'll make it through this time.

Interesting also that the CPM site now says you will learn about severance when you get ISP'ed. Great job with transparency guys...

Notifications begin "mid-July" not July 15
Initial CPM actions conclude "late July" not July 30

Does "initial" imply there will be additional rounds? Once again a vague and ambiguous message from management...
