Halliburton is laying of people because I was one of them. I was taking vacation to help my sister with her cancer diagnosis when I got a phone call over speaker phone telling me I was laid off. Halliburton always above the best.

layoffs are happening. Few people in my dept got let go this week at main corp location

Unfortunately, Halliburton is one of the worst companies in the world regarding to take care of his employees. Only on the papers they look like perfect; in realty they are a mess.
I would like to tell you that: you are lucky cause you are now out of the company.
Your life will improve a lot, you can plan your life, with your family, with your real friends, not the mate in Halliburton.
I was a Halliburton employee, I know what it means to: good money, travels, sleeping bad with low personal life.
After my lay off (Covid), I thought everything was lost. After a few months, my life is improved a lot of. Now, I have a good job with the same money that I left but with a good life, more time for me and my family, I can plan my weekends with my wife, including a walk with her after the job.
Think on that, the best part of your life is coming…..

I am so sorry this happened to you my friend. Almost the same thing happened to me when I got laid off - 2 weeks later I was diagnosed with cancer. I called many of my HAL “friends” to ask for referrals and if they knew of any job openings because I needed medical insurance so bad - they all blocked me and never spoke to me again.
