Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I wonder when they stop paying salaries next

A pay cut or missing salary payments will be coming soon. They are going to be sued left and right by investors, government and maybe even class actions and with all the debt we already are in, this is the worst time in Intel history. Whoever is still planning to stay here I wish them luck and I can only hope you are less than 5 years from retirement if you decide to stay

Chapter 7-11-13 is when they 0 out
c/s and go bankrupt without cutting another paycheck to you. They can't seize back Intel pension funds or touch your 401ks. Broke and busted down Detroit style. OR, AZ,NM, IS, IR, and elsewhere will be ghost towns. Google India manufacturing towns gone bust. eL look at old Soviet Union towns in Siberia. Ghost towns.

This is one of the d-mbest comments ever made by any OP on this site. Yeah right, Intel is really going to stop paying employees. Again, d-mb.

The OP needs to be the next to be shown the door.

@ag, I did not forget about 2023 and I did not forget about salary/pay cuts in the past years. But if I have taken a salary cut Intel has always given it back to me. With over four decades I have seen a lot of things occur, is this the worst time in Intel history? perhaps. But I’m not walking around acting like the sky is falling and stating things as if they are facts when I know they are not. None of us know exactly where this going to end up at, and we can only speculate. But for certain it is out of our control and that’s for the majority of us. Everyone’s situation is different, and I get the frustration, I only know that life is too short and it can be taken away from you at any moment, so it’s all about perspective. I know I stated some obvious things and I only wish everyone within the Intel community the best of luck. Intel has always had good people, and that is what makes this Company.

My ~2004 Intel experience - we (Blue Badges) were all ask / requested to take a one week (1 wk) WITHOUT pay job 'furlough'. Hillsboro 7 years into home mortgage Winco hotdogs, Cosco hamburgers & homemade potato salads saved the day / week!! This was over 20 years ago ... NEVER FORGOT!!

@af of course it is my own opinion. The post title also says "I wonder". So yes it is my opinion that pay cuts will be coming. Given the facts about everything over the last 24 hours and the horrendous continued layoffs do you think it is not a possibility? Did you forget 2023 and the salary cuts ?

@ac, you probably are the OP. The first two statements in the post are not facts, they are written as if they are and the OP has knowledge of that. If the OP would state it’s his/her opinion that those things might happen then okay. The OP needs to learn how to communicate. I agree with @a3 it’s fear mongering, no different than the MSM.

@ab sounds about right as any other Intel employee and CEO response. How about actually explaining why this is a Low IQ post and not avoid the question ?

@a7 I like how you still proud of Intel. I hope you are closer to retirement because if not finding a job out there with your Intel background, well good luck. Be ready for a big pay cut and a long wait time before finding anything

The OP lives in a delusional world. I like how people try a state something as a fact but in reality it’s not.

Certainly for foundry, if Yeary and DJT are able to do a fast exit, then what will follow will be epic.

TSMC would put up money, but that would come at the expense of a huge number of jobs. Maybe something like 30% headcount reduction and some fairly massive consolidation.

Could see everything but Oregon, Ireland and the newer AZ fabs sold, with a lot of consolidation in test and packaging.

All manner of pet projects would be cancelled, which would gut TD like a fish (that drinks money).

Meanwhile over in Productville, all excuses for low margins will be met with terminations. No more Foundry to blame.
