"Ford spokesman Ian Thibodeau declined to provide specific reasons as to why Ford took out the line of credit, saying only that the "credit's there in case we need it."

@am there is a senior manager at the skunkworks who is a total a--clown, working on one of DF’s pet projects and the name is not one you mentioned. Totally incapable and a real di-k with minimal experience.

Oh wait, I forgot to mention... lets spend a giant pile of money on racing, some bullsh-t 'skunkworks' out in co-mie-fornia and a complete rebuild of PDC... into whatever abomination that 'hub' thing is. Much like the train station, unless Im required to go there, I refuse to set foot in that ugly overbearing eyesore.

The BEV tax credit ends soon. So the losses are going to pile up even faster for BEV. That’s my guess, offset more BEV losses. And JF is still in charge. 🤡

I honestly don't know why anyone would consider employment with Ford right now let alone GM, or Stellantis. The industry is not in a good position, and the current leadership isn't of the pedigree that will weather the storm without scorching everything in their path trying to tread water.

We did something similar under the 2008 downturn. I guess we're getting ready to weather the storm.

Maybe if they hadn't spent billions on worthless buildings (train station, book suppository, the church(?))... they would have a few pennies in 'the hopper' for a rainy day. Well, nope, spending like a drunk sailor has them taking loans to stay afloat.

Laying off (firing) workers doesn't do them any good. The business plan they have is garbage, like their product.

The money that will be made when RTO4 starts will more than pay for this loan. Efficiency matters.

The company just needs the cash now in the meantime to keep progressing the Ford+ Transformation Plan. It's that simple.

There is “economic certainty.” We are building two huge battery plants that will be extremely underutilized. That’s going to be expensive.

@am they must be wh-z kids, made director level with less experience than a typical LL6. Must be earning some serious coin eh?

@ak You can’t have huge directional changes by leadership without consequences. The company is betting their entire life on an overpriced, less desired, less government supported product built by id--ts like Jacob Koniuck and Andrew Reiner and Alan Clark who are all Tesla and Apple shills with no experience except AC who is a a Musk trickster but d-mber.

B Ford and his daughter bought stock a few years ago at a higher price than currently. Why they keep JF around when it’s only going to get worse who knows.

CE1 is 6-9 months behind schedule on most components and over cost. EV sales have slowed combined with a loss tax credits. New PHEV and EREV products wont arrive mostly until 2028+. There’s no new “exciting” products besides CE1 until 2028. F150 EBIT has gone down every year since a peak pre COVID.

The company is protecting against what it knows is going to be a rough few years.

Well, the Bronco Sport and Escape cracked fuel injector recall is going to cost Ford $570. Let's round up for charity and add in executive pay and bonuses, there goes a 1/3.
