Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

What are you doing now?

Do you know someone that left last year, either volunteer or involuntarily? What are they doing now?

@rs Sounds great! You can advertise it to those who stayed so they have what they need to grease up their upper management. Oh wait, those bros are the ICs now. 😂

More time with the family, fishing, golfing, and enjoying life. But I was ready to retire. Also wasn’t an intel lifer. Always wanted to work there throughout my career, but as they say the pasture always looks greener on the other side. The technical folks were fun to work with but the bureaucracy really su-ked. Took way too long to get something done. Managers that were born and raise at Intel were too worried about stirring the pot and covering their a$$. But I do wish everyone well and hope Intel can resolve current issues and come out stronger than ever. Best of luck to you guys and gals that are still fighting the good fight.

I left over a year ago. Found a new gig quick but it was great timing. Others I know are still looking ranging from 6-12 months. Sadly I still visit this site as part of healing. Intel caused such stress and emotional toll to last a lifetime. Like a beat dog… it takes time to venture out of the cage even when the beating stops and door is left open. Still conditioned that another beating is coming. It’ll take years to cleanse myself from the beatings at Intel. Watching now from afar and making strides in recovery.

Left a few months ago. Interviewed for a bunch of positions until I found one I liked (Nvidia su-ks BTW, it's just another Intel). There are opportunities out there. They might not pay as much as Intel, but the amount of nonsense is way lower. Less PowerPoint too.

@a8 I am the OP, not a troll and I am asking because I could be laid off soon.

@a6 what a coincidence, your mum is right next to me. She says “hi” and your school lunch is in the fridge.

I'm casually looking, had a couple hits but it didn't work out.blood pressure and weight naturally dropped. It's worth it if you saved and paid off your bills. Glad I never bought a dum--ss BMW! 😂

Sleeping well, enjoying life. Working and making less than at Intel but doing ok and can live on this easy. Off all meds and stress way down. Can't buy a new car but since I don't RTO, that's ok.

Right now I'm wasting time reading yet another troll post asking everyone what they are doing?

As if OP actually cares.

Some at NVIDIA, some at AMD, some at Qualcomm and other companies. Everybody happy. But I am quite happy too
