Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Badge swipes is the only thing that matters

Forget quality, cost,etc......the message internally has been clear at the lower levels. The only thing that matters is getting your required 3 badge swipes each week and sitting in a Ford building for a minimum of 8hrs on those days. Our id--t leadership went down this road so that is what they will get. No concern about anything else. We'll, you treat your employees this way, don't think for a minute they will not find a way to fight back. After all, they are stupid enough to hire id--ts in with no automotive experience and then put them in charge of organizations to which they are clueless as to what is going on or how to solve anything. Then the sinister and BoD sit with their mouths open wondering what is going on. We'll, this is called a quiet employee revolt. Don't think for a moment that with this RTO demand that you are not laying the groundwork for quality issues in 3 years. Do the math, you are reaping what you sowed with Hackett and his hatcheting of the company a few years ago.

@d8 based on your comment, it's clear that you have been a GSR at Ford for 20+ years and are making less money than your peers did 5 years into their career by going to a different company. Keep licking that boot and maybe you'll get an extra $1000 off the next $80k Fu-k-150 Lightning you buy

Based on the up/down votes here, it is clear that most people, n this forum are lazy as--s. No wonder you spend so much time worrying about layoffs.

@ce+1k0n0ztpk My team has to RTO4 in September, and half of them are Agency. I think the only difference between Agency and FTE is that is easier for Agency to be a remote worker.

Everyone who says they are more productive at home aren’t measuring it the same way as Ford. You all are counting getting laundry done, baby sitting kids and side gigs as productive, Ford is only looking at Ford related work task, which you aren’t getting done at home.

Stop complaining, shut your yapper, and get your 3 badge swipes this week. That is your prime objective. Don't care if you catatonic stare at the computer screen all day. Get your swipes in. Don't care if you call into all your meetings and contribute nothing. Get your swipes in. Oh, make sure you do your training....other than that get your badge swipes in.

Do you get what's important to this company now??

@ap -Yep, the biggest clue that they are targeting full time employees is that none of the Agency people received the RTO mandate. When asked about it, they were told they didn't have the 3x a week mandate, nor will they be required the 4x a week beginning September 1.

Quality issues can be due to sabotage by unhappy employees….

@an The same amount of goofing off whether you’re in an office or working remotely. The difference is, when you’re in an office, neither your stuff nor their stuff gets done.

@am Can you share the studies? The only published studies I can find say that there is no monetary or productivity improvement when returning to the office.

@a4

As has been said before, they just want full time salaried employees off their books. Contract resources look better on paper for one, no health care costs or retirement.

Very little work is getting done on in office days. Back to pre Covid people wandering around ki-ling time, goofing off, walks, groups taking 2 hr lunches and disappearing after 3pm. Yeah, in office is soooooo productive.

Haha, I love the quality threat. Ford has a quality problem because of WFH, this forum is full of id--ts.

Yep. I submitted my resignation, and before I was gone i was offered a contract that paid more than my original salary to do the exact same job. The kicker is that I was told I didn't have to go in to the office because as a contract employee its not required. Clearly RTO is NOT about collaboration or individual performance.
