@1q1 you do realize that Cisco 10,000 different ways to manage their DC gear is not what customers want? Yes, Meraki gear is not for the enterprise, but that's not what Cisco was trying accomplish. They wanted to simplify management, and for better or worse, the Meraki Dashboard is way better for that purpose.

Meraki gear has its own set of problems and lack of features, but Cisco's code base is riddled with systemic issues. I know this because I see the results of continuous red teaming against our products, and I'm not even talking about bugs here. I'm talking about serious critical security issues that keep popping up over and over again.

Your anger is misplaced.

This might be the only chance we have to regain market share and beat them cause he destroyed our switching business, tried to Merakize everything ended up alienating and ki-ling off our customer base. Meraki is fine for small home , office but leave the big campus and DC to real enterprise hardware, and take your Web based semi policy enforcement and shove it. pretty sure Csco is betting on him destroying their business also.

Todd is the same man who could not keep up his video...

Since when was an EVP responsible for doing their own IT? Cisco's IT failed to correctly configure every kind of Cisco's own products I had to interact with when I was there and it wasn't just because the products were extremely buggy. As for the buggy part, that reflects poorly on software engineering. Failure is a core Cisco competency.

Todd is the same man who could not keep up his video during multiple Cisco beats Cisco wide events. That was so embarrassing seeing a Cisco ELT leader in charge of Enterprise Networking, unable to hold a video conference. We all used to wonder what is going on with him, when he was the EVP of Cisco Enterprise group including Meraki. He could not fix his own conference? That was extremely poor taste for us techies.

He soon departed Cisco quietly to Fastly which was a failing Company with stock all time low. Still is.

My question is what makes these people go up the corporate ladder in spite of no special talents while many Cisco employees with technology domain expertise and CCIE etc. stay at the bottom all their professional careers, many with 20-25 years tenure that eventually find the door with LR, and zero job security. Such is the reality.

He did a great job with Meraki and it’s been sinking ever since he left. Fastly was going to be tough for anyone to grow. He just took it to become a CEO and now is getting 30m to join Arista…lucky ba----d

For aged male I only saw one guy back as blue badge in the past ten years. He only survived for around 1.5 years. And LRed again. From my years observation
50+/Male/Not-Major-race will be on the top of the list doesn't matter how good you are. If you meet those criteria why back to Cisco work like a dog and waiting to be LRed.
Job hunting for old guy is challenging and frustrated, find a job you can stay till retire age.

I just looked up Fastly. It appears to be a place where money goes to die.
