Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Scrubbing

I pulled 2 years of workforce data from 9 major companies.

  • At Intel: 3 out of every 4 engineering roles no longer exist
  • At Microsoft: 7 out of 10 managers have been scrubbed from the org
  • At Ford: nearly 9 out of 10 senior staff roles are gone

This isn’t just about headcount or over hiring. Oh and the jobs they’re adding back? Cheaper, junior, offshore, or ‘ghost roles’ to keep shareholders happy.

So now ask yourself:

Which company’s workforce is a house of cards?

@a3 including literally every fab engineer who in the past couple years changed from “process engineer” to “module engineer”

“I pulled 2 years of workforce data”
translation: I mashed together LinkedIn stalking, gut feelings, and vibes from Glassdoor reviews, then slapped it on Substack like I cracked the Enron files. These numbers are so absurdly inflated.

“3 out of 4 engineers at Intel are gone”? Please. If that were true, the fabs would be running on interns and duct tape.

Then there's Ford, where apparently 90% of senior staff just vanished? What did they do, collectively ascend? Or maybe you just filtered for "VP" on LinkedIn and declared a mass extinction. And of course, the conspiracy cherry on top: "ghost roles" designed to fool shareholders. Because yes, these companies are totally hinging on fake job postings and junior devs in time zones you can’t spell.

@a4
Same could be said for the OP. By not providing the source data, could be hiding something.

Sh-t goes both ways.

Stupid post. 100% fabricated.

Lots of work are busy work. How hard is it to plot and model process performance or assemble worksheets? What is a manager being paid to do really?

@a3 It sounds like you just don't want it to be true. Instead of assuming the data is out of date and inaccurate, maybe ask OP to clarify before you dismiss it.

Without seeing the source data, I would guess it is not up to date.
If looking at job titles & employees, then Intel is likely inaccurate since many jobs have had title changes in the last few years.
