Thread regarding IBM layoffs

"Wall Street TV Experts" and IBM

These TV shows (no exceptions thus far) have IBM in the group of "Big tech companies investing in AI", "AI companies to watch", "AI is so big", "it's coming, it's coming", "energy, we need tons of it", yada, yada, yada...

Oh, and they attempt talk about AI tech and make mistakes all the time... these so called anchors make a lot of money for their "commentary"...

I wonder how the Average Joe may feel about all of this fluff?

Yes, perfectly put. It's a circus.

What do you think about so called "stablecoins"? (bitcoin, cybercoin, whatever new term they coime up with)

Perhaps my question seems out of place here, but remember when IBM was all about blockchain too? Another gone with the wind one....

Six years ago.... https://www.investopedia.com/news/ibm-launches-stablecoin-backed-fdicinsured-banks/

Sounds like the rushing of bids at an auction to keep the action going ....until Going, going, gone !

The reality is that it is nothing more than marketing fluff at it's worst ! It generates lots of excitement and a lot of poor schmucks get caught up in the excitement of "winning" and end up losing their homes by buying the wrong shares (or backing the wrong horses in the race). Of course, the marketing crooks are long gone and will deny everything if there's an investigation because there's the "fine print" which says that they were only providing information and exciting the imagination from the viewers for entertainment. Sort of like those infomercials on late night TV for gold bars, bullion coins, currency notes etc. Never any mention of the potential risks involved. Buyer beware...
