Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Use protected time off get a point anyway

At our club if you put in fort PPTO you get a point anyway..that is if you don't go fight for it...when you put it in the managers deny it first and then you have to go and beg for it..this is an ethics issue..if this continues it will big a big time ethics issue..

make sure to put the entire shift of PPTO. If your scheduled 7hrs for the day and have to leave early for whatever reason, put the entire day,

had a coworker leave early and only put 5 PPTO because they only worked almost 3 hours. They still got 1 point.

Yet another coworker left early but put the entire Shift of PPTO and was not penalized.

Our GM states to anyone but his favorites that he stands by whatever decision his managers make, including denying PPTO requests off or rejecting valid doctor's notes.

I've watched multiple associates put in PPTO time, and it was instantly approved in the system. Of course, I live in one of the exception cities where the city law over rules Wal-Mart policy.

@ufk and @adt agree with each other because it's the same person. GTFO with your irritability.

Bravo to last post, you get it! The people crying here about points and god forbid having to make sure their points are correct, are the same people who have leached off the company for years. We need more voices from the people who care about their jobs and are sick of the whining babies that bring us down. If so many people hate this company and hate working there, just quit and go to work at all those wonderful other places that treat their employees so well, just GTFO of my club.

hahahahaha....of course the policy is in black and white but...that is black and white ON PAPER.in reality managers are already trying to subvert the policy.every single time a policy favors associates the managers try to find a way around it, Ultimately it is their word against yours and only in the most severe cases will home office ever believe an hourly when they say a manager is doing something wrong

Everything is documented in black and white, if you have PPTO hours available to cover a late arrival, work less than 50% of shift, or call off, you will be approved with no points. Go into GPA Portal on OneWire and it shows exactly how many PTO and PPTO hours you have, and it is easy to look up how many hours you had WHEN you had the attendance occurrence. It is your responsibility to check your attendance after a occurrence to make sure it was keyed correctly. If it wasn’t, speak to your lead and they can go to your assistant manager if you do not feel comfortable going straight to the assistant that keyed your occurrence. Are there rouge managers that will do the wrong things, of course, out of over 40,000 managers company wide, there will be some real terrible ones. This policy is cut and dry, you have available PPTO hours, you are not going to get an occurrence point(s).

Some mgt still don't know how this policy works and its a head ache for the ones that want to use it. Keep on them if you have the time use it that's what is there for. Keep a paper trail on communication if it's not working you're way show the Gm he can fix it. Get the mgr on your side that's approving everything I really don't think they know how to policy works it's in plain black and white some being held accountable and some are not tis tis this new policy is not fair for sure.

No these Club Mgr’s & Co Mgr’s are using their authority to do what they want . And if you complain they make working here so much harder . This company is really going down heel

The Mgr’s still doing what they want to do

No....they are just automatically denying PPTO..all of it...the CM will not fix it ..The CM says talk to the assistant ...they are actively making it hard on purpose to discourage associates from using their benefits..

Use the open door. The manager probably worked the exceptions before you put in PPTO. The club manager can overturn the points

We have a manager that came out and said - his associates read the schedule wrong and he just goes in and approves it . Perfect example of policy not working sgain

it does indeed trump the power trippers BUT words on paper are only that...until home office reprimands the CMs for encouraging the blocking of associates using their company provided benefits associates will be getting fired for points they should not have..........

Print out the PTO policy that says PPTO covers any call outs as long as you have enough to cover the shift.

Company policy overrides power tripping managers.
