Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco tag LinkedIn Profile

I saw few folks using Ex-Cisco title as a proud achievement like Ex-Google, Ex-Meta.
While they are free to use cisco title, can I put "Cisco-Hater"in my title.
If so, will there be any consequences. Cisco or Cisco devotees shouldn't retaliate personally for this, right. If yes, Cisco-Haters has to all kinds of actions against Cisco-Devotees and it will pave the path to a bigger war.

Cisco is no longer viewed as anything special. Way back when the stock was rising and a beacon for the economy, it was something. Not so much these days.

What a stupid a** question! Do you think labeling yourself a hater is going to get you a job?

@nlj+1w2UkAud is 100% correct. You're current, or prospective new employers will see that "old-company-Hater" title and wonder if they'll be your next fixation as a "hater".

It's fine to hate Cisco, and it's fine to try to steal sales from them, but be professional about it. Frankly, I don't like dealing with "haters" as they just drag me down. I'd rather deal w/ someone who says "hey, I like xyz and it's way better than Cisco abc because of this, that, and something else" than someone who says "I hate Cisco, it's garbage." It doesn't matter if Cisco is garbage or not, it's just the negative attitude vs. the positive attitude with receipts.

I would avoid it... Let's say in your next job you have decision making influence and you decide to choose a competitor. Someone could use your title to contest the procurement award - especially if you work anywhere in the public sector. The other thing is that some HR departments may see this as a red flag.
In case you are wondering, I am ex-Cisco and retired so I have no vested interest in the game any more - just trying to give you my honest advice.

Everyone wants a trophy. Most should have been made ex cisco the day they started.
