Rumor has it another $1B set aside for LR in Feb 2025.

And rumor had it that:

  • Chuck resigned in October
  • Chuck resigned in November
  • RTP closed
  • Everyone resigned to protest the layoffs
  • Every layoff has been and will be 20,000 people

And so on.

The first billion took the stock up over 30% in four months. I'm not seeing a scenario where another $1B charge is not going to spook those who drove the run up. I can see them taking a far smaller charge and adding that to the pool they saved.

On the other hand 20-30% tariffs on product sold in the US is going to sting and Cisco's operating margins have gone from just over 30% to just over 17% in a matter of months, but these also suggest a potential hit to the stock price unless there is some positive movement increasing revenue and earnings instead of only cutting costs.

Yes small layoff will occur Feb 2025, being cleanup effort from last layoff

No, the “small layoff” is still going on with the chump change from the Q4FY24 charge, it was in the Q1 documents.
It’s highly likely there will be another new $1B-level charge next Feb, and we start again.

@vnt+1vJIDNAS, I gotta call BS on your post. The fact that you’ve been a non-working employee for those last 60 days means your badge was deactivated, all of your system access was disabled, & all you had access to was HR, payroll, benefits, & email.

There’s been little to no hiring, so where did all these DEI hires come from who just suddenly ruined all your projects & how did you watch them get ruined?

I’m gonna guess I know how you voted, so here’s to you finding out.

Rumor has it another $1B set aside for LR in Feb 2025. Cisco growth strategy is through refocusing in area of growth while laying off employees from high cost areas.

Call out ELT in the next beat down and demand answers. Without you they have no gigantic bonuses and unreal salaries.

Su-ks to be you, being laid off and all. Here's hoping you find something else soon. Might want to ponder on this though: How much do you figure the decision to ace you out had to do with you being: ageist, racist, s-xist, and xenophobic?

"This is done by 3 old white guys in a room with an HR rep on the WebEx as well...When I left I watched ALL of my projects I worked turn into train wrecks due to DEI hires."

So you have a thing against old people, white people, men, and anyone whose demographics would be included in the DEI profile. What's left? What do you identify as, other than a bitter, unemployed NPC?

Do better.
Otherwise your attitude is just going to keep sinking your career.

Why are people pretending it to be a rumor when layoffs have been happening consistently every six months? The only thing I’m betting on is how many times the CFO is going to say how much he hates layoffs this time.

The company publicly announced in August they'd lay off 7% of staff with a $1B charge, and they held back $200M-$300M of that for a second phase. No one knows how many they laid off in the first phase so we don't know how to scale how many will be covered by the money already set aside.

Since this was publicly announced and Cisco has been doing layoffs as often as quarterly for nearly 24 years the idea that this is in any way a "secret" is ludicrous. The people so out of touch as to not know this should be the first out the door.

I was just laid off, the process is dehumanizing, told point blank your job is being moved to a lower cost unit in Mexico. This is done by 3 old white guys in a room with an HR rep on the WebEx as well. They simply read a cold script that sends the clear message you are a number on a spreadsheet and that is really all that matters to them. 15 years wasted at Cisco is my end result. Get out of this company if you can, Chuck is a horrible CEO with a stock that has barely gained in the past 10 years while the market is up massively. When I left I watched ALL of my projects I worked turn into train wrecks due to DEI hires. You have to sit for 60 days and just see your projects turn in to train wrecks and there is nothing you can do about it since Cisco is required by law to give you a NON Working 60 day notice.

100% there will be a huge LR then. It will be announced after H1 close when CR will wheel out the "We need to refocus with laser intensity on growth areas" speech and dump 10000 employees. It is as certain as night follows day.
