Give it 6 months. ALWAYS start looking for your next job now. In this market and the numbers being laid off in the RTP area, it can be 12 months or longer to find a job. It doesn't matter who you know, what you know, or anything else. Many jobs listed out thee are nothing more than to gather interest in replacing existing workers. 90% of what you apply to will not even be recognized. Of the 10%, maybe half of them may give a phone interview. Then it is the other layers of interviews only to be rejected. So, it is always best to leave on your terms than theirs.
