So now they have loaded the unlimited PTO. It’s about to really change now.

I posted this in another thread as well.
Initially I had a very negative reaction to this change. I’ve always tried to keep close to the maximum allowed hours banked in case of layoffs, I did this at the expense of taking time off I really should have and did this at the expense of my mental health.
Now with unlimited VTO I’ll take 20-25 days per year and not think twice about it, also add the 80 hours of sick time (which can also be taken as mental health days) I’m starting to embrace the change.
I’m sure some people will try and abuse the new policy and others will still not take off time when they should.
they will demand that you take 1 week off every 5 weeks - unpaid...SO you effectively get paid less
Employers should note that in California, paid personal days or floating holidays that can be used at any time during the year are treated as paid vacation days, and are subject to the same nonforfeiture regulations and other requirements as paid vacation, including payment upon separation of any accrued, unused time.
My 16hr floating holiday bank won't be included in the payout
"can someone help to explain what's the "unlimited PTO"? is it a new policy?"
I swear some of you fackers are just br@indead
can someone help to explain what's the "unlimited PTO"? is it a new policy?
As long as the employee's work has met their “managers expectations” and coordinated their leave with others to ensure an absence does not impede their work, they are free to take leave. Unlimited PTO does not mean the employee can not show up for work at will if they have nothing to do.
@OP you’ve always been on unlimited PTO. try working for a change
An unlimited PTO policy is inherently unfair. A few people will take many days and most will only take a few.
It’s a scam
The floating holiday is gone too.
