Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Rif's to follow verp

The loss of talent from the verp was not enough to satisfy PZ. The rif lists are already being compiled. It will not take long for the brokers to start moving business to companies that can actually provide service. The 2008 collapse did not ki-l AIG but looks like PZ will.RIP

I don’t think anyone would be shocked to know that the verp list evolved from a master rif list. I would imagine the only reason a “voluntary retirement program” was created was to deal with the amount of over 50 people that ended up on the master rif list.

I think it depends on the area. Claims seems to have to back fill some jobs and I don’t anticipate layoffs there. Some divisions have been reorganizing for years and I would imagine be unlikely to have to lay off after the VERP.

RIF is reduction in force or layoff.

Oh c'mon -- you KNEW the VERP wouldn't be enough for PZ. Anyone who didn't think RIFs were coming anyway was NOT paying attention to the initial FAQ chart where they were already laying out the headcount reduction costs.

Islands of competency in a sea of incompetence. That’s how I best sum up this place. Hoping for a RIF but looking for an out otherwise.

I honestly don’t know how we stay in business. I wonder how truthful our financials are.

Post ID: @OP+1t1Z25Jc You're correct. The 2008 Recession unfortunately did Not K!LL AIG. Unfortunately, the U.S. Taxpayers resurrected AIG when they should have saved Lehman Brothers instead. AIG is and was a Dying DOG with 10 kinds of Cancer ! If AIG were actually a Dog or Horse, it would have been put out of its misery 16 Fvcken Years Ago ! Not only is AIG a Greedy PIG (AIG=Asylum for the Insane and Greedy), it's also a White Elephant ! https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/white-elephant
