Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Jeep Chrysler did layoff today

And I did not think they were in as bad of shape as Ford. I see a lot of Jeeps on the road now. I barely see Fords anymore and every time I do see New Bronco or other Ford I think oh God I hope they don’t have all of the problems that I hear about from customers everyday. Also seeing more delinquent accounts, Repos, Bankruptcies, Loss prevention calls.

I am not surprised. The Ford Bronco has been absolutely destroying the Jeep Wrangler!

The future of off road capable vehicles is the Ford Bronco.

I am very glad that I work on Bronco projects. We have complete job security here.

You should all consider moving over to the Bronco team.

The layoffs were not long time employees, they were temps close to getting full time and health insurance. Perminate layoff is a quick way of avoiding those employee costs.

@OP, I hope you aren't a decision maker in whatever org you are in. Ford far outsells the Jeep brand in the US. Your anecdote does not reflect fact and you should not be basing opinion based on it.

Meh, most of the layoffs were employees that were retired eligible. People that would brag every day about how much their pension is and how they can't quit working since they have no life. They are being replaced with contract employees.

Chrysler/Stellantis laid off ~500 a few weeks ago. Looks that they will keep doing this, laying off <500 each time to avoid the WARN requirement.
