Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

I Resigned

I resigned without notice and so happy I did!

It’s all going down hill from here. I didn’t want to be part of the titanic.

OP here. It was so freeing, walking out of the office that last time with a monkey off my back. My wife is rather upset, but I think I convinced her of what everyone here is saying about the place going down hill, how it was a good idea to leave and how I should be able to find a better job within a couple weeks. She is just mad that I will get to hang out through Thanksgiving while she has to work, lol. Thanks to everyone here for the support!

Why resign? Get laid off and collect severance and unemployment. Never get fired, never quit and never retire. Getting laid off is the way to go!

@zmt+1pvydem2 I sense the jealousy. Good luck to you while I live life on my terms. I feel sorry for you.

OP is my hero. He's doing to the company what they've done to us.

No loyalty to us, no loyalty back at ya.

That is so grand, total train wreck happening in STS as well, probably everywhere! Good for you!

I worked with a dude in STS that did the same thing before all these layoffs happened on no meeting Wednesday.

We went to lunch. He ordered more than 1 drink. Said "I'm going back to resign." After a two-hour lunch, he went back to his desk. He e-mailed his manager, who was out, that he quit. He sent a second goodbye e-mail to work friends. He left work early.

You can do this when you know you can get another job instantly. Talented developer. He had a job the next week for more money. We still go out occasionally for beers.

@nmc+1pvydem2 Nope. I was in Operations. It’s a train wreck.

I have been working on my online business. So not looking to work for anyone else. Done with the Corporate world.

It is very liberating.
