Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford will keep shrinking until it has new leadership

This isn’t the first wave of job cuts linked to Ford’s restructuring plans. 8,000 roles were cut from the Ford Blue business arm in July 2022 and 3,000 employees and contract workers from departments across the US, Canada, and India were laid off in August 2022. An additional 3,800 employees in Europe were laid off in February this year.
Small company that will make few vehicle models this is the future. It will lose market share to new comers ..
The real problem at Ford is leadership it can not motivate and inspire the workforce.

During Farley's tenure, Ford's market share in the US declined from 14.1% in 2020 to 13.4% in 2021, further highlighting the challenges the company faces. 2022 they lost more ..

@OP. I disagree in one point... Ford is not shrinking its workforce. For each laid off NA GSR they'll have to hire 3 or more LCC employees to get the same results. Just look at how many "new" employees we have in Mexico and Brazil.

From Ford Authority https://fordauthority.com/2022/06/ford-engineering-efforts-expand-in-mexico-amid-latin-american-pivot/

"Ford engineering in Mexico takes many different forms, from physical buildings to the human talent that enabled the company to develop several of its recent hits. The Ford Engineering Center is the largest facility of its type in Latin America, and it experienced a 900 percent growth in personnel from 2010-2022."

What I've noticed about Farley is he is always about
what everyone else is doing.

Every single time he talks it's always a comparison to some other company.
GM this, Tesla That.

Going full EV was a mistake never go full EV.
no infrastructure to support it
Can't go cross country with it.
Doesn't charge well during winters apparently?
Is also a fire hazard when charging overnight in your home.

Imagine during an emergency evacuation and you have an EV and need to charge for God knows how long along with 1000s of other people? Good luck.

power outage due to a storm? welp too bad.

EV was a mistake and the cracks are getting more apparent
