So basically those who work hard, mean well, and simply enjoy networking are not deemed HiPos? Funny how the perception of a HiPo in all the comments above never states hard working, kind, compassionate, or networks well. Smh. Sounds to me like a lot of y’all are butt hurt for never being told or deems that you’re a HiPo? Lol.
Butt kissin', hot deskin', coffee havin', sons a bi--hes.
The further the country of origin, the more worthless the degree from joe blow college is and the level of ignorance determine the cl potential. Xom likes em super mentally challenged with an attitude.
Will you tell me who is J@hny Hugenepads at Permian and the mediocre manager in Houston now?
Arrogant a-hole who highlights connections whenever competency is threatened, which is at least weekly. Also, disingenuous, cannot be trusted under any circumstance. Just work around them and toss them a few power point bones once in a while
HIPos are usually found walking around campus like a hoodrat with their pants down and buttcheeks exposed.
Just like the brudhas in prison advertising that they are ready to take a bigun up their chimney.
How you identify a HiPo?
Arrogant, ignorant and aggressive, often pathologically so. No need to work, softball assignments are promptly set up by supervisors. They can talk for eight hours straight about the theory of what we’re doing, without having ever done it, and with perfect corporate lingo.
@OP White, male, wiry, degree from A&M, leans Republican.
Show me someone in upper management who doesn’t tick 4/5 of the above boxes and I’ll buy you a six-pack and a powerball ticket.
System to choose a hypo = mystery.
System to sidetrack a hypo chosen by mistake = non existent
The most destructive hypos get sponsorship assistance and mistakes covered up.
If you reach out you HR they will be delighted to discuss this topic with you. A lot of times you just have to ask if you want to know the answer. Go ahead, just do it.
OP, the honest truth is that if you are asking this question then you haven't been identified as a HiPo by HR. Your career at Exxon will be mediocre at best and most likely you've already been identified as NSI material by HR. It is just a matter of when HR decides they'll use you as NSI. You should be looking for another job right now.
What’s the CL potential for Hi-Po? Over 35 or over 40?
They land good positions even after fu----g up multiple times in different roles. It’s covered up .
Big, soft lips that can grip like chuck Norris and pull cement through a straw.
Check career connect. If they have 1 year duration jobs that are big steps up with each change, that's a hipo. If theyre 35-40 with "global" in the job title they're probably a hipo.
I don't know how you really make change or impact in 1 year but OK.
They will normally tell you and everyone who will listen..
They are apart of every step-out project. They also never complete anything… Passing the work to others, then reclaiming work at last minute to get credit. They talk a lot, use big words, but can’t figure out their hand from their a$$. Quick to throw rocks and run at anyone they can’t influence or manipulate. You know the type… The loudest ones in the room. The cowards who hang in crowds. Attention seekers. They are usually paired with spineless managers who also have limited knowledge so the crutch relationship is developed immediately.
A bottle of scope and sani-wipes in their pocket at all times.
Excessive use of chapstick
Minority that can read and sound intelligent at times. Women are preferred or your an executives relative. Execs relatives don’t have to read
