Thread regarding Ford layoffs

First SIRP. Then full RTO!

It's coming.

And they are evil geniuses. After 8-10k lose their jobs, full RTO will be accepted without a whimper because everyone will be just happy to have a job.

Buckle up!

"So what about all of the new hires that were hired to work from home?"

@2dau+1n9kCcnb do you really think they give a %!?&$@ about the employees? Even they RTO they will give those remote workers a deadline to relocate or quit.

If you don't believe me then you aren't very bright.

Leadership has two RTO messaging problems

  • 1) they claim they want employees to RTO due to the erosion of the Ford culture. Yet at the same time claim they want to change the toxic Ford culture. Which is it?
  • 2) they have not designed RTO in a manner that makes the commute worthwhile. Why come to the office 2 days a week to collaborate when the people you are meant to collaborate with are not in the office those two days or are located in different offices/countries?

June 26th is correct, just look at a few LL5 calendars .
Prior to that date their will be staff meetings with the LL6's.
On 6/26, one can observe meetings with 15 minutes intervals.
The day or a couple days after one will see meetings more staff meetings.
Prior to there have also been meetings about "resource planning", maybe started a couple weeks before and an every other week meeting.

@1ims+1n9kCcnb. Don't kid yourself.
They could do that to anyone. Everyone at Ford is replaceable.

@OP. They could do that to the friends/family and the deadwoods. However, anyone having some skills doesn't have to put up with this. Ford doesn't pay that well anyways.

I will not rto in Dearborn until our lcc coworkers also rto in Dearborn so we can all more effectively "collaborate" on webex while sitting in different dearborn collaboration centers.

I highly doubt people will be happy to RTO. This logic almost sounds like Farley. People will be happy in one respect they have a job. They will be sad to see their coworkers gone. The workload increase will cause insane hours and stress. Which will lead to attrition. I don’t see happiness with the outcome. I predict disarray and misery. It will take many months to normalize and work through all the chaos.

Get back to work you entitled lazy WFM staff! And if you don't have a solid reason to work from home, then you will be the first zoom call to get fired. Haha!
