Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

What a shame

Has anyone looked through the glassdoor reviews lately? All of the cons frequently mention low pay, stressful and overworked, layoffs/sending jobs overseas, and poor management. Most of the reviews are now negative. Shame, shame.

Why complain yet continue to grind at the same place? If you aren't happy just resign, there's a world apart from PepsiCo and it's bright and full of opportunities..

@fbpo+1lxcfITR - There were layoffs in March. Not big cuts, but cuts.

Not sure what Glassdoor you looked at but I'm seeing glowing reviews and positive recommendations. I'd like to leave my own negative review but I'm not there yet.

I was let go via a reorg of the IT Dept in Feb 2019 which was apparent 1.5 years prior with a new CIO joining. Her MO was to ride it out for a couple years then offshore. Previous to that Pepsico was known as a great company to work for. But at that time rumors were abound and sure enough folks started disappearing. It was done rather dirty and illegal at times. In fact you would hear about former employees suing. One employee was on sick leave due to a heartattack and was let go while he was recovering. A coworker on maternity leave, Sadly, as I understood it. even a couple suicides accross PEP's global footprint..

Meanwhile, perhaps In an effort to falsely give the impression that there would be no more layoffs coming, employees were to attend team building and employee appreciation seminars. It was easy to think that layoffs were done. But a glance at the new CIO's resume clearly supported what was about to happen. In retrospect I feel PepsiCo actually held off on outsourcing instead of following the trend of the times feeling it was inevitable. I decided to simply ride it out of course hoping for the best but knowing what was to come. I heard even severance packages were being held back. Last time I spoke to my old manager he said he viewed it as working a two week contract not knowing if it was going to be renewed that Monday. Having your employees feel that way can not be good for the company's health let alone the employees. Yes. It's a shame....

All senior managers who stayed are pass through people that don’t really understand the business. They think they do though. The turnover is ridiculous on the frontline.
