Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Meets Needs Exceeds

Did a lot of people get a Needs Improvement on their T1? I’ve heard about 4 people say they did and I’ve never heard this previously.

@bj Excellent post. Couldn't agree more. ELT and PP have figured out a way to fail at everything they do while demanding more money for themselves and more layoffs for us. They think we are the problem their stupid decisions have failed even though we all tried to warn them! Anyone trying to stop the lunatics from doing damage are forced out or silenced. There is a reason we don't get surveys anymore.

This is interesting. I've worked in the home office over 20 years. I got my very first NI on my T1 review. It was not expected at all. I have been meeting or exceeding in my role for a few years. I have always received a meets or exceeds on all prior reviews, in all roles I've held at the firm. My leader recently gave me tons of praise and a great annual review and then gave me a NI for T1. I guess it's just another way for ELT/leaders to reduce headcount without layoffs/severance, and get rid of anyone left who remembers when the firm was a great place to work.

It’s all part of ELT’s plan to “create a performance culture”. Which is basically whipsawing performance ratings from overly optimistic to draconian - overnight.

Great plan for the “people centered” firm, right?

Well, the irony is that despite the firm being WAY off course for their 2030 targets, the ELT isn’t applying the same standard to themselves. FA turnover has skyrocketed, growth is stagnant except for market growth, the home office operating execution is a mess post ER, technology is still substandard, culture is toxic…yet no accountability at the top. None.

What is up, you ask? Fear and ELT comp.

Nice job Penny. Pat yourself on the back all you want, pay for as many of the “most powerful” and “best employer” lists you want. Everyone sees you for what you are - a failure.

I have a friend who has ALWAYSS gotten exceeds (yes, they do exist). They got a new leader with ER and was surprised with a Needs Improvement.

If you get a NI then you should have been informed by your leader you were headed that way early to midway thru the trimester so you could try to improve. Should not be a surprise. We are almost 1/2 way thru T2, so keep that in mind.
