I’m always amazed by people who act untouchable while cuts are happening all around them. Part of me wishes I had that kind of confidence. The other part is relieved that I’m realistic enough to prepare instead of being blindsided.

I don’t believe I’m safe; I just don’t want to live in fear. Also I keep my debt levels low so I could get a pretty lousy job and still make the mortgage.
@OP Just dress up like you are from WHQ, say how profitable EVs are, look as d-mb as that sounds, drool a little bit and HR won't even look at you as a termination target.
@OP. You want to have that confidence? Build up your nest egg. It is not that they think untouchable, but that they are ready for it.
Who thinks this way? People are so concerned about getting thrown under the bus by an opportunistic co -worker, I don't see much of this. Wouldn't mind it though, give me a nice vacation into the Holidays. I'll be fine.
