@a1 Not that Ford was engaged in the specific activity mentioned in this string (in fact seems not) but EVERY company is political/gets involved in politics be it through lobbyists or some other method. Your opposition highlights only your own prejudices.

@OP
Here are references for those folks looking for facts.

A link to all the IRS filings for the Ford Foundation which show financials and officers.
https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/131684331

As of the 2023 990-PF filing Henry III is NOT an officer.

Ford Philanthropy is the org that donates FoMoCo money.
https://www.fordphilanthropy.org/

The latest report is here and does not mention the Ford Foundation:
https://www.fordphilanthropy.org/sites/default/files/media/files/2025-04/2024%20FP%20Impact%20Report%20Final.pdf

The Ford family founded Ford Foundation in 1936. Ford Philanthropy (previously Ford Motor Company Fund) was founded in 1949. Ford Motor Company and Ford Philanthropy, headquartered in Michigan, are completely separate entities from Ford Foundation, located in New York. Ford has no control of the Ford Foundation grant-making policies or decisions. Each operates independently.

Believe what you like but these are the established facts.

The Ford Foundation's board of trustees includes Francisco Cigarroa (chair), Henry Ford III, and other members with expertise in areas like law, business, and education. Recent additions include Laurene Powell Jobs and Richard R. Verma, though Verma has since taken a new role and rejoined the board as a trustee in April 2025.
Current leadership and members
Chair: Francisco Cigarroa, MD
Henry Ford III: A Ford family member who joined the board in 2019.
Richard R. Verma: Rejoined the board in April 2025 after serving a previous term.
Laurene Powell Jobs: Appointed in October 2021.
Other information about the board
Trustees are elected for six-year terms and are responsible for setting broad policy and overseeing the foundation's grantmaking and investments.
The board's members come from diverse backgrounds across four continents.
The Ford Foundation's work is separate from the Ford Motor Company, which was a public company after the foundation divested its stock in 1974.
Note: The Ford Foundation is a separate entity from the Ford Presidential Foundation, which has different board members, including David C. Hoogendoorn as chair.
I was able to Google this in five seconds for the lazy cry-babies.

Ford Motor Company donated $74 million to charity last year. If you don't think the vast majority of that went to the Ford Foundation then you are d-mb.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

You believe that drivel?? The Ford Foundation does the bidding of one person, and one person only: Bill Ford Jr.

It's his pet project, to appease his liberal Ann Arbor, UofM friends. Yes the Ford Family tries to distance itself in an effort to look unbiased to the car buying public. But if you believe they're not affiliated with it then you're smoking some heavy duty crack.

Please provide a source for the assertion that Henry III is currently on the board of trustees of the Ford Foundation

Sorry, Hank the III is still on the board. If he didn’t approve of this donation he should say so. That’s the family’s reputation now.

@a4
Henry Ford III was elected to the board of the Foundation in 2019:
https://www.fordfoundation.org/news-and-stories/news-and-press/news/ford-foundation-elects-henry-ford-iii-to-board-of-trustees/

The latest list of board members I can find is from 2023 and does NOT list him as a trustee:
https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/131684331

So, unless he was recently rehired he is not on the board. Regardless, even if he was, there is still NO legal or financial connection between Ford Motor Company and the Ford Foundation.

I'm no fan of the current incarnation of FoMoCo under Mr. F but I can't believe he'd be spending millions on such a partisan effort - especially at the behest of junior Junior.

Yes, the Ford Foundation which now has Henry Ford III on the foundation’s board. So that excuse doesn’t work now, Can’t say there is no connection any longer. Hank the Deuce pulled Ford out of the foundation due to their left wing politics. Billy has the family back in.

No No No. The Ford Foundation has nothing to do with the Ford Motor Company.
"The Ford Foundation is not connected to the Ford Motor Company. The Ford Foundation and Ford Motor Company are two separate and legally unrelated entities whose operations are completely independent and have been for more than 50 years. There is not any financial authority, decision making nor funding relationship between the two organizations.

Is Ford a car company or a political institution?
All this while off-shoring jobs.
