Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

What's the goal?

Every time I think we've hit rock bottom, they find a new way to stress us out. The constant changes, PIPS, the fake pep talks, the micromanaging, layoffs, AI... It’s draining everyone. Do they want to have a completely demotivated workforce that only does the bare minimum? Is that the goal here?

@bx they will pip the sh-t out of you and give the the NSI label, as a bad and ineffective human being. All your colleagues will know that you are sh-t. It is not good enough bro. Fulfilling JD is just basic and gets you to the good category besides it’s all relative ranking… of course I am coming from an Asian employee’s perspective . It’s definitely easier in the west.

The goal is to get rid of the older higher paid and replace with younger low paid. Even better get rid of HC 10 employees and move everything to low cost countries. I am being nsied, belittled, harassed and tormented by the management. I will stay untill i am RE and retire. This treatment is not worth my mental health. In my financial position I am very secure. All the bad treatment does not affect me that bad. I still don't like it but I am wealthy enough to tell them to go to he-l at RE status.

@bc So-called quiet-quitting is a snarl word bosses came up with to describe people who were doing their jobs to the limits of the description. It was popularized by the likes of Fortune and BI. Unionized employees know it as “working to rule.”

I personally do exactly what the job description says, not an inch more. If the company wants more, they can pay me more money or offer more flexibility.

@OP To get people to quit.

Every large publicly traded company is doing the same thing. They don’t want to pay you but they don’t want to fire you or lay you off either. That’s the game.

Since they are playing it so dirty. I am not going to be taken advantage too! I am sticking around until the end! Quiet quitting!

When does all this purposefully administered anxiety from the top “leadership” translate to incidents, reduced productivity? Or is the objective to subjugate and marginalize staff?
