Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Will yearly Compensation take into account inflation?

With inflation sitting at 40+year highs, will Ford actually address salaries sufficiently, or will they throw most just the "usual" 2-3% and call it good? With states also raising minimum wages in most states, including Michigan, the salaried workforce is taking a hit to their wallet. Our money is being devalued at a fast pace and people could feel like they're also being devalued as employees. What do you all think?

If you are unhappy, quit. If you cannot find another job, you are getting paid the right amount as there is no incentive for Fordcto pay you more.

As a GSR8, I have seen almost the same merit increase the years I had TA as the years I had achiever. More than 2%, less than 2.6%. Where you are at in GSR level distribution also influences the increase. That is evidence that it will likely remain right at mid-range regardless of performance. That is the HR goal.
The inventive is that your AICP is improved to 135% as a TA. The 50% corporate multiplier that year made sure it was crystal clear how it really works. I suspect they handed out quite a few TAs that year since they knew it wouldn't cost as much.

I suspect it will be the standard 2-3%. I expect 1000s to be laid off (aka fired). I expect they will think the remaining employees should be grateful for having a job and will be happy to work 60-70 hours a week.

JF idolizes Elon. What he doesn’t understand is he doesn’t have a hardcore following who would be willing to give up their lives to work for him. IMO their similarities are that they both have Autism, lack empathy, have huge egos and don’t realize that the employees are what make companies great. We are a mere number to them and are only useful to use and abuse to make their brilliant visions come alive. My guess is they would prefer to work with robots as they are less complex and are fine being slaves.

@OP. FMC screwed up the health benefits of its retired employees. It is nickel and diming its employees with the AICP and the percentages. I am expecting the same or worse for salary increases.

Salary employees used to have COLA Cost of Living Allowance Increases. Then it was moved into salaries and was told, salaries will keep up. Pfffft NOT. They will throw in the 2 to 3 percent. It has always been that way since COLA went away. They are getting rid of people to fund AV’s. Nothing will go back in your pockets.

From what I heard you may be taking a pay cut. They are encouraging leadership to make 80% of your bonus the new 100% for meeting objectives. You’d have to go above and beyond to get 100% if this happens.

"Ford's bright future is with EV & data subscriptions which we want all of you to enjoy the full benefits as we grow to dominate this market. Therefore this year we will be adjusting your compensation by granting each of you 100 stock options in addition to the annual Merit increases to which you're accustomed."

IE the usual 2-3% adjustment and an attempt to get you to give it back to the company.
