Instructions for 8/25

Our L3 GPs got instructions on what to do when delivering 1:1 message. They need to stay on video but associates don’t have to. Is it because they think associates will start balling? Also, they will offer associates time to absorb the news so associates can take the rest of the day. How thoughtful.

I was required to be on video for a 2024 layoff notice... although I guess it wouldn't have mattered if I had just not listened...

@nv Or subtly train your replacement inefficiently, slowly, and perhaps incorrectly. You have more control than you realize.

@OP would you rather they deliver potentially difficult news and then say sorry, we have a lot of work to do, better get back to it?

Sc--w that. I'll be taking the next two to three weeks off sick citing stress and other medical issues that arose from this if "selected." Why help a company who says they don't want you and never appreciated what you did? Getting contractors from India in place was a precursor to this. Who wants to go train their replacements sitting in India now?

@OP thanks for posting. Some just don’t understand so I’ll try to help:

  1. If you are not in person for impromptu 1:1 with the GP on Monday or Tuesday then you might have a zoom with her/him. The GP needs to keep zoom camera on. The associate/leader on call with GP does not need to keep camera on apparently.

  2. If whatever the GP says (demotion, promotion, laid off, new role, new team, etc) then they will tell the associate/leader the associate/leader can have the rest of that day off work to think about the news they just received.
