I created the initial post calling layoffs starting the week of 07-14-25 (https://www.thelayoff.com/post/@OP+1jzk1a9kr). Initial estimates put that wave at around 140-160 associates, or roughly 2%, far below the target of 5-10%. Layoffs will continue until the end of the month, likely every Thursday from here on out. This is just in time for earnings on 08-01-25. The first wave was investments heavy, the second will likely be marketing focused and lastly tech. I'm sharing this not to cause alarm, but to suggest caution regarding significant financial decisions until these layoffs are done. Hang in there everyone

@OP one more day in the month. I would be very happy to learn this information was incorrect and not just delayed. It's been a long few weeks!
@j1 PK should have been fired years ago. He has demolished II and ruined it with his incompetence and poor leadership.
No further “planned” layoffs in II was confirmed today by PK
@hj i hope so. but afraid to let my guard down. i have heard the same information from other sources but who knows they could be getting their information here.
@gv maybe everyone here is worked up for nothing
@gw Good luck everyone.
@gv eerily quiet. would be great if last week was it but i doubt it. probably changed tactica
Today is the day, any reports of anything from anyone? It’s quiet, too quiet.
@cr It is just the beginning. All the business unit marketing/creative teams have been centralized as-is into two Global Marketing segment teams (US and OUS). The creative teams will probably get centralized again over to Global Brand. And there will be a redundancy of roles magically discovered from these changes.
@cs Seems to be part of the drill. Nothing further announced in ours.
@cr A colleague who is on a team that reported up to one of the axed heads just got an email invite to a meeting later today (7/23) titled "Team Update".
Could just be more details about their move, or something else.
@cj "Marketing reorg seems to be minor impact. A few leaders let go, but not a massive change."
You seem to be assuming that this is the end. I'm pretty sure it's just the beginning.
@cg a colleague who’s been laid off told me it seems like his manager was informed the day before, because a day earlier they were making plans for the rest of the year.
Marketing reorg seems to be minor impact. A few leaders let go, but not a massive change. So much for the alarmism.
@cf A recruiter reached out to me yesterday with a job that wasn't a great fit, but I told them what was going on at T Rowe and even told them about this site. I said this organization always had a thoughtful hiring process and hired great people. I told them to be on the lookout for T Rowe people recently let go because they can snap up some great people.
@cf I don’t want to ask you to give information you can’t comfortably share, but roughly how far in advance did you know you were going to lose people? I’ve been wondering how much managers and skip levels know in advance and have been looking for signs, but not sure what the norm is in terms of their notice period.
Just so damn hard to focus on anything other panicking it’s impacting everyone’s ability to even work.
I was very much in the loop about last week (lost some roles not in investments) but have heard crickets about anything else. That being said the ambiguity and lack of leadership is extremely disappointing and nothing would surprise me.
I'm fortunate enough to to be headhunted on a regular basis and they've come out in force in the past week. I've never seriously considered moving on but now its starting to become tempting to take those calls. They are going to loose people they need to keep if they keep operating like this.
@bb OP is correct and confirms what I heard from someone high up in investments who is very close with Rob Sharps. Likely will be 5-7% though, not 10%.
@OP Where are you getting these numbers from? Do you know something we don’t or is it just speculation?
@a2 "i’m at a loss for a legitimate reason leadership would do this weekly and not all at once."
They're doing it this way because they can.
What rumors are circulating on tech side? Any obvious targets?
it’s almost sadistic to carry this out in this way. i’m at a loss for a legitimate reason leadership would do this weekly and not all at once.
