Thread regarding Ford layoffs

In today’s town hall, MJ was asked how Ford would attract and retain young talent with RTO4

Answer summarized: tough sh*t. Ford leadership is saying we’re doing this so we’re doing it.

Didn’t address the question at all. Sort of just rambled about how it’s making Ford better blah blah. Not surprising.

@f7 I can easily lose as much on Model e as DF did if not more. Where do I apply?

@f7

I’m struggling to see DF’s talent. What has he delivered in his career other than hot air? Apple car, Segway, U759, U760, FNV4 all failed.

Complain all you want, but the facts are Model e was created by DF and DF is a greater talent than MJ.

@b4 This is a Ford forum, not a model e forum. I know who DF is, and that's plenty. Plus our cheeseburger loving southern friend. Who's SW? How about PM?

See how fun this is?

I will bi--h about what I want to bi--h about, with or without your approval. Find a way to live with it because it's not going to change.

@dv

Yep. You are right. No chance that anyone drops their productivity, drags things out more, produces lower-quality output, deliberately wastes resources, or anything like that. I have not and will not, for sure.

Only 100% good outcomes here.

Stop bi--hing about RTO, if any of you complainers could get another job, then you would leave. It’s only going in one direction, your opinion isn’t going to change that.

Seeing as I dont attend every useless talking heads meeting for the reasons mentioned, useless content and non answers, I really dont care who MJ is. So, go FO with your d-mb comment.

As well, I hate DF so much that I cant stand to even look at him let alone voluntarily listen to him speak. Hes a fu--ing paste eating tu-d that should have never been hired.

@ar That was my same thought. Maybe you wouldn’t retain young talent, but the ford name is still big enough and the market is bad enough that many graduates can’t pick & choose where to accept offers. Staying down the line if there was say a rto5, might make people leave depending where they are in their timeline, but job market or other companies doing the same takes the choice away.

I remember when MJ was hired and he told us he was going to move to MI within 2 years. Months later, JMB reiterated it was in his contract to relocate within 2 years. Rules for thee, not for me!

Who was this great person asking questions, does he/she think MJ is a man to trust and expect any meaningful answers? Its a bloody circus, don’t ask why and what, it’s their show they will sc--w anyone anytime and you just watch or leave

@bd Not quite. Ford is not scr-wing you. You are scr-wing yourself by staying at Ford. If you have talent and skill you can leave. If not, you are stuck and SCR-WED!

@b0 RTO4 is worse than a pay cut for people working remote right now. It’s essentially a pay cut + extra hours.

And no one can give a substantial reason for it. It isn’t for us. It isn’t for collaboration.

If it was for collaboration, they wouldn’t be continuing to shift jobs out of the country or allowing teams to be led by remote workers. Many of us will be reporting to Ford managers who are remote. We will be driving to Dearborn in order to sit on Teams calls with our teams in India, following the orders of our leaders spread through the country.

So, who does this benefit? They are sc--wing us because they can and we let them.

If you have to ask who MJ is, please for the love of whatever you believe in, get your head of out of the sand and start looking around. You need to know what's going on in the company if you plan to make it out alive.

I saw that question for MJ as well. The lack of response suggests this decision originates at the very top executive level. To clarify: will the company adjust salaries upward by 2.4% to compensate for the Detroit city tax? If not, this effectively constitutes RTO4 + pay cut.

See, where you got it wrong is that they will be hiring remote and claiming it’s to attract “talent.” They’re just forcing all the people they have locked in already to RTO4.

I'm sure they're doing this to force people out of the company. Many people will quit and find a remote job or one closer to their home.

That's cause they know that it will be RTO5 once the HUB is done.
