Do you have one? I do. ... Her favorite one: "just curiou - was there a reason you thought that approach would work?"

@OP I don’t often pick up on social cues, but sometimes there are cases where I do but choose to over look them as I don’t easily take offense. Because the manager said ‘genuinely curious’, my first reaction would probably be going into detail of my thought process, tangents and all. Usually my pickup to gauge if someone was using ‘genuinely curious’ disingenuously will be when they stop me to say they didn’t want that answer or will tell you it was rhetorical.
It's middle school - Mean Girls addition. W2 employment is rife with this. This is what its all about. Get used to it. Undesirable middle aged Karen's upset because no one has touched them in a loving way for years. Taking it out on employees.
I have a good name for the topic -> WASTE and BIG FAT in the company. They are panicking because they don't have PR goals from their LL4s yet.
4th consecutive years , same PRs - COPY and PASTE.
"They are not trained in how to communicate effectively with employees"
This is basic Human communication. No one should talk to anyone like that, inside or outside of a job context.
Now, here's something else, Bob. I have eight different bosses. Right now. Eight bosses. Eight, Bob. So, that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled, that and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired
I don’t think they are being passive aggressive. They are not trained in how to communicate effectively with employees, so this is basically incompetence and unfit to manage. In my experience, the best thing to do is be kind, but direct and work together to come up with a plan to fix whatever happened. That way there is no misunderstanding.
@OP You're working for a mega corporation in the Midwest. Passive-aggression will be the norm.
The answer to that:
A cold stare and "Don't talk to me like that."
I hope you have been documenting this person in a journal.
Most of them is a waste , barons and kings that do not bring any value and don't give you any PR goals and dates.
I have multiple bosses and one is an extreme micro manager. 2 of my bosses are respectful the Micro manager is not i avoid interactions with her as much as possible although with 4 day in office work week will make that a tiny bit harder. I hope she stays on team meetings all day
Ford is very top heavy.
Well I'd guess we all have different definitions of ""urgent"", dont we?
