Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Finally found a new job

Took me almost eight months. Considering how horrible this place has been for the last couple of years and that my manager is a genuinely bad human being in addition to having no idea what he's doing, should I just walk out mid-project? I know it's going to hurt him, but it'll probably hurt my teammates as well, and that's the only thing that's making me consider giving a notice.

Congrats! Take the new job, give the 2 weeks notice, walk away with pride. Don't feel bad about your team, deep down they all know they would do the same thing. You're getting out of this meatgrinder, they will all be happy for you. Your TL? Sc--w them. This place would throw you out without zero concern for your family. I already saw the ugly side of this place when I dodged "optimization" layoffs 18 months ago and was forced to train my overseas replacement. These people at the top do not care about us!

You do you. Let your brilliant leader worry about your backfill. That’s their job.

Take care of you and your family. The company existed before us and it will exist after us.

They have proven there is no loyalty to us anymore. GO! And good for you!

Ha. If they were thinking of getting rid of you, they wouldn’t care if you were mid project or the impact on your team.

Two weeks notice. Don’t entertain any counteroffers. Go on with your life and take the entire team’s productivity with you. lol

@OP, I didn't take the VSP. I have no issues on walking away from this place if I find something outside this firm.

Was always told to think about you and no one else.

PP and her cronies don't care. We are a number to them, underpaid and being treated like trash.

Congrats on the new job. Yes, you should walk out mid-project. Your job and company do not care about you. Do ONLY what is best for you and your family.

This is a company and not a family. Take the job! the potential issues you're concerned about are 100% a failure of management.
