Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Looks like this morning I got hit.

After having expressed my F-U to uproot my life and move to NC from Westlake, I was told my last day would be end of August.

Yes, I am a full time employee and was told i am not culturally fit for any teams in fidelity and hence my position is terminated.

As other posts have echoed the sentiments here, BURN IN HE-L ROGER, BOB, AMES, ALL THE LEVEL 8,9 LEADERS IN WEALTH.

I’m sorry you have to find a new company in this economy. Something that helped me when I got laid off was running around the office as much as I could to make more connections. One of them helped me get the new and better job I have today. I’m traumatized by the layoff so I shamefully come here once a week to see how everything’s going in Fidelity. Just network in the office like it’s your last day. Explain you got laid off to people - they’ll want to help you out however they can, because they know it’s tough.

This’ll be a personal question, but I ask the sake of helping out other people here… what does your severance package look like? If you don’t want to answer, that’s ok. Take my advice, because networking in the Fidelity office while I still could saved my career.

They should just do layoffs and stop testing our loyalty with these relocations. Nothing worse than relocating and playing their game only to have them lay you off anyways.

If I got it right from who's who, Ames is the HR who was under Roger.

She's definitely one of the major culprit pushing for colocation, she was responsible for silent layoff for ET architects, a lot of HR teams in NC, Boston and Westlake.

I am surprised why this is not a major headline yet.

I feel like this needs to be a media news on how Fidelity is torturing employees by finding BS reasons for better part of past 2 years.

@OP I know it is hard, but you did the correct thing for you, for your family, for your future. Uprooting your life is super risky with at-will employment.
