Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Layoffs already hitting marketing in Europe

Some teams in marketing and media in Europe already got the axe, no warnings, no explanations, just gone. Leadership is totally checked out, hiding behind buzzwords and pretending everything’s fine while people vanish from org charts. No transparency, no accountability. Just chaos and fear.

Everyone left is scrambling, watching their backs while upper management plays d-mb. If you’re still here, polish that resume, this ship is sinking and the captain’s too busy playing politics to steer

@OP This is a sinking ship. If you have a life raft in any form - use it. What pushed me over the edge finally was the 60+ hour work weeks, no raise or bonus, having to write the notes to our termination ballad in way of digitizing every step of our roles so either AI or someone in Mexico can do it for less than half the cost. Been heavily interviewing and looks like I may have something with a global company. Pay is slightly higher but the real “compensation” is waking up from this nightmare.

Payroll in NA- we will find out in a few weeks who they are keeping and who they are letting go. If we get chosen to be let go, our last day is Sept 19

@ah Is it local media or the whole media sector? I heard the media sector in Europe has been completely torn apart... not that it’s surprising, with such an incompetent and toxic leader at the helm

NA is next. I agree, if you haven't polished up your resume, shame on you.

Also, those who turn down the last VRP "golden parachute," shame on you. There will likely be no other VRP in 2025, as everyone who is pension-eligible will be retiring by the end of the year. You missed that last great one, don't come crying here.

I see the layoff iceberg in the distance, and that USS PepsiCo is full speed ahead right at it.

Can confirm... I know of two of my peers in the UK who got laid off. No heads-up, just a vague “restructuring” excuse (while they hire new people!!!). Absolute mess.

UK marketing leadership has been toxic for a while now, all ego, no direction. They micromanage, play favorites, and throw teams under the bus to cover their own failures. Zero support, zero accountability. Honestly, it feels like they’re more focused on protecting their titles than doing actual work
