The moment it happened, I dove straight into applying for new roles. Every weekday, I follow the same routine: up early, coffee in hand, scouring job boards. I don’t just stick to roles that fit perfectly. I throw my hat in the ring for anything close, even positions where I might be overqualified. I do this for hours.
So far, I’ve managed two interviews, but no luck yet. The silence from employers is starting to wear on me. It’s exhausting putting in so much effort and seeing so little return.
Medtronic is doing what other companies , like Microsoft, are doing. They are RIF thousands of American employees to hire cheaper workers from India.
Does anyone know how many people were laid off in May? I feel strange saying I was part of a restructuring layoff, but no one’s heard of it and I don’t know how many were impacted

It can take awhile- keep working it. Tap into your entire network. Also, look at non-profits, government, healthcare…

The job qualifications.
See if you know anyone who can route your resume to the hiring manager…
dont forget to reach out to MDT colleauges, former bosses and such who are outside the company now, to keep your network strong, they can have a big part in getting you in front of new opportunites. Good luck! People realize that a lot of really good talent is leaving MDT through no fault of their own!
