Thank you Vicki for the special bonus. You get a lot of negative comments on this website but we appreciate you and thank you for the work that you have done this year. Oxy is stronger than ever. The future is bright!

Sorry to hear that. There’s a solution DeathByAThousandPaperCuts.Org
@5lba+1jtBeHTO, you’re not suggesting someone might stretch the truth on this site are you? Is it you? Fact checker on aisle one! What is the world coming to when you can’t trust an anonymous poster on a site designed for disgruntled employees??
@OP+1jtBeHTO, I’ll take your advice and not believe what you are saying.
@5dgl+ijtBeHTO - He’s lying about why he didn’t get the bonus. Don’t believe everything you read.
“I’ve not heard about Oxy for eons” says @3nwe+1jtBeHTO. I guess you just accidentally wandered onto this site, and started reading the postings and for the first time became aware of the APC acquisition and Warren Buffett, and then you were so shocked that you felt compelled to comment on your own lack of knowledge. This is current news. You should really try to keep up.
@5ajt+1jtBeHTO
Did you even read what 4wzx+1jtBeHTO said about his bonus?
Let’s say it’s May and you plan on retiring in November. You will get no bonus because bonuses are paid the next year. I know because I’ve seen it happen. Or let’s say you announce your retirement in six months and three months later they announce a VSP that pays out boatloads for your age and length of service. You’re out of luck. This might not be true for certain levels of management, but I guarantee for the rank and file it is.
The VSP scenario might be unavoidable, but my “advice” is to announce your retirement after bonuses are paid and give the company a few months. Believe me, there is a succession plan for your position, and a couple of months is all that is required to make it “orderly”. Or you could roll the dice and hope for a good final pay, whatever that is.
Bad advice. You should always plan an orderly retirement with your boss and your replacement. They will look favorably on you when it comes to any final pay and bonus.
@4wzx+1jtBeHTO, I’m recently retired from Oxy. One thing I learned during my two decades with the company (mostly from my boss) is to NEVER announce your retirement plans in advance. You could miss out on so many financial opportunities like bonuses and severance.
@4wzx+1jtBeHTO - Thanks for your service and that just does not sound like the thing to do.
Thank you Vicki!!! I appreciate it!!!!
Thank you for the bonus. Unfortunately it’s also seen as a precursor to the reality that we are not adding headcount despite all the work on the staffing plan, and increasing activity
I am retiring at the end of the year and apparently made the mistake of giving Oxy a heads up to plan for my replacement. There was fine print on the 5% bonus payout and Oxy won’t pay you if they know you are leaving before year end.
Stay classy Oxy!

You Oxy hands still got jobs? I’ve not heard about Oxy for eons, sad stuff, was once a great company.
Speaking of windfall. Rather than give the windfall profits to the feds give it to the shareholders. Why do we buy this piece of cr-p stock anyway? Probably because we are foolish investors. The company basically makes foolish decisions and then rewards executive management. What a show.
Well deserved, Congratulations!... History shows that these good times quickly fade; save this bonus as a non recurring windfall for any possible future downturn.
Oxy employee thankful the blood money keeps rolling in.
100% thankful for the bonus, and it came at a time it was needed. Anyone not happy with it that works at Oxy needs to leave. Just as simple as that as they will never be happy here at Oxy.
Heard the bonus was 5%. That’s a good bonus for doing nothing extra except for watching oil prices go higher.
To all Oxys victims and the families that have been affected! They deserved better.
You only have Vladimir Putin to thank for this bonus.
Share some of the wealth to the stockholders. You drove the stock price down with that stupid deal and now we are worse off then before. How’s that for a fact.
