Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

We need layoffs truly based on performance

All the layoffs we've had so far have resulted in good people losing their jobs and left the incompetent as-----s who destroyed the company in charge to continue ruining GF further. Imagine if for once layoffs got rid of the worst performers, regardless of their rank. We would lose 90 percent of the top two levels and barely anybody from the bottom. I would get behind that kind of layoff. Not that something like that would ever happen.

It is always targeted to higher paid ones. This time GF is planning to bring volunteer retirement for folks turning 55 on Jan 1 23 and target is 7% . This will follow after regular layoff but has relatively better package ( 2 weeks per year and capped at 16 week max). Let us hope this meets 2022 target
