Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Workplace abuse

Does anybody feel like things have become worse since the layoffs? My manager was bad before but now he acts even worse. He lost his ability to speak normally, every word he utters is yelling. It doesn't help there are fewer of us so he can concentrate his rage on us more easily. Would going to HR about this do anything if all of us reported him, not just one person?

HR is useless. Look for a new job.

HR will NOT help you. I was being harassed and bullied by a co-worker and after my LL5 and LL3 refused to do anything about it, I went to HR. I had proof of the bullying - emails, voicemails, witness statements, other people had complained about her for the same harassment. I got fired and she got a promotion. HR WILL NOT HELP YOU.

You can go to the media or law enforcement, if you have evidence of a crime or violation of regulations. That's about it. HR will not help. Just document everything as it happens and your notes may be useful in a lawsuit down the road.

HR is not there to solve personality clashes or to tell people to be nicer. It is only an HR concern if he threatens violence or says something bigoted (s-xist, racist, etc).

Don't trust HR. The one time I went to HR with questions, they had contacted my Supervisor before I even got back to my desk from HR! I was lucky that I took good notes. Was able to use them to prevent retaliation, because I had the goods and knew it. You could smell the fear in the meeting.

Remember HR exists to protect the company, not the employees.

HR is not there to help you, it is there to protect management. Do not say anything or you will be retaliated against. Start looking for another job.

Comments are true regarding HR. HR job is to protect management. I witness se-ual abuse by a VP and the abused employee that reported it to HR was moved and tagged as a trouble maker.

As others have said start looking for another job now.
HR and the management chain will protect the abuser.
Saw first hand one of abusers these get 10 women fired over a 5 year period I after each of them reported him to HR and the management chain. The women were painted as “hysterical”, “looney tunes”, “eating fruity food”, “being bi-polar”, “liars” etc. All the words of the abuser. One woman got so frustrated that she punched the jerk, landed a good head punch, yes she got in trouble and was fired. He always had one or two woman he was nice to so they would sing his praises to HR, in the end he turned on them as well.

Thankfully the piece of work abuser retired last year. Management and HR allowed him to abuse his reports and others for decades

NEVER think for one minute that the toadies in HR are there to do anything other than Ford mgts bidding. These people are a special kind of awful. Lying, backstabbing, whatever it takes to achieve their objective. Ford's say something/ open door policy is just a sham to get people to self report themselves and make their work easier.

Take really good notes. If the sh it hits the fan it will save you. I had a manager that was being abused by a director and VP and he was always scribbling notes. He won a multimillion dollar lawsuit against Ford.

Don’t do it. I had a coworker who was being harassed and threatened by an LL6 on another team. They reported it to HR and there was an investigation. Surprise, surprise they were walked out during SRD.

Since we are all going to get axed. record him yelling. Then turn him in play it right in front of HR. Maybe have a lawyer call in. Otherwise work 8hrs go home. No OT no extra mile for them. I like to laugh at them after i record it. Anyone in PD NA our days are numbered. jobs leaving the US to Mexico / SA /India

Unless you're absolutely golden handcuffed to the place through the GRP, START LOOKING FOR ANOTHER JOB. HR will do nothing for you except put you at the top of the next list. In both scenarios you would be gone anyway so why not exit on your own terms.
