Sanity Check

I've been on this board for many years, so here is my 2 cents:

  1. It's an anon board, there will be trolls and there will be misinformation
  2. Read between the lines, assess the structure of the post, use common sense
  3. News can be wrong, TV, papers, journals - all included
  4. Trust your gut, if it looks fake it probably is, if it looks legit it probably is
  5. Share what you know, ask questions
  6. Try not to stress out over things you cannot control
  7. Work on all things you can control (resume, networking, update linkedin, upskilling, etc.)
  8. Be supportive to your team, share a kid word, listen to people, provide comfort - be a calming factor, reassure your team and peers - things will work out, fu-k it, it's just a job
  9. I am sure there is more stuff that I am missing, will add a thing or two through replies
  10. Love you all :-)

@oru - ha hahahahaha! The Friends & Family Plan isn't going anywhere until ALL the LL3's and right up to and including Billy "I like train stations" F are gone and the preferred stocks eliminated. Probably would need at least half the LL4's gone as well.

If this were to actually get rid of the FnF plan I'd be right there with you celebrating, but ain't gonna happen.

The leadership is doing what it has to do! As a shareholder, I'm pleased of a leaner Ford to come. How exciting, the friends and family days are about to end... I for one cannot wait to see the results! Good job JF and team for building a strong Ford!

I'd also point out that large corporations mostly stopped rewarding loyal employees before the 1970's were out, and all of them willing to axe employees in bulk to maintain the bottom line or bolster stock price by the end of the 1980's. So best to be ready for it, don't take it personally or as a commentary on you or your skills. Remember "it's just business".

Also, there are much bigger problems looming for all of us and getting let go from a company that's been circling the drain before it's completely down it may be a blessing in disguise.

Bloomberg scoop almost certainly came from Ford executive. They wouldn't publish otherwise

It sound like you must be from Ford HR.

Not the OP but:

  • Voluntary will go first, so that will be your 'sanity check' if layoffs are real. also, it'll indicate when regular layoffs will start (after the voluntary one, for sure)
