Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

5 main groups that exists in the Supply Chain Department

There are 5 main groups that exists in the SCM Department:

  1. The Managers who are on FaceBook or do personal business most of the day. They take off early once the directors leave. They have no idea how to be true leaders. These are the typical type of Managers in the Supply Chain Dept. They are racist, biased, and sexist...even if they don't think they are.
  1. The constant Complainers who are intitled narcissistic bullies that are favored by their managers. They are well protected and spend more time complaining about other teams. Most of their day is spent on spreading gossip instead of working.
  1. The Workers that actually do work and know what they are doing. The Workers accepts the fact that they are in perpetual He-l. These are the ones who get persecuted if they report anything or open their mouth about being bullied or witnessing anything.
  1. The Pretenders who are little brown-nosers. They are slackers who pretend to do work. They shop online and study for their Masters classes instead of working. Pretenders are perceived as completely innocent by managers. They blame other and are master manipulators. They are the wolf in sheep's clothing.
  1. The Replacements are hired to replace the Pretenders who has completed their graduate program and has moved on to another company after milking Enbridge. They replace the Workers who finally had enough of taking cr-p and leaves or gets crucified after making a formal complaint. Depending on their personality type and ethics, the Replacements will eventually go into group 2, 3, or 4.

I want to commend you for the overview. The group is indeed inefficient. I no longer work in this group. It was not even a pleasant experience for me. This is a great warning to possible new hires. Don't expect much until leadership start to act like leaders and become serious about raising the bar and hold individuals accountable.

I believe your observations are summarized perfectly and sadly but yet unfortunately accurate. What a shame of the all potential.

I wonder if the recent musical chairs will work this time around. It hasn’t from the past org. changes. Great idea to rotate toxic managers vs retraining them.

Lost respect for the scm logistics wear-house manager after realizing he is a total fake. A typical hillbilly racist. He changes colors in a heartbeat if the situation warrants it. Never actually working and always streaming and facebooking. What a joke of a place. Wonder why this is a toxic environment? Career managers Leading the example!

Fake managers and nasty bullies ruined this place. Spectra wasn’t any better. Enbridge just helped bring the worst in people. Full of Arrogant closed-minded douchebags.

Hi.
This article explains why we Chinese are so miserable when it comes to doing supply chain business with incompetent people from your area.
One day this business can be done almost entirely in Shanghai and you all go elsewhere to find work.

“We hear you whispering “would you do her?””

If this is what you are hearing at work, then you need to call the ethics hotline and report it anonymously. It is anonymous. Did I mention it is anonymous?

Nothing is going to change until a-holes who say things like are reported.

After interning as a contractor in this department for a semester, I took the advise of a few decent colleagues and a high up there type Manager. I went elsewhere. Making more $$ with a much better environment. I found it difficult to make friends and network. The vibe here is off. People seemed cold and miserable. Not many interns took the lowball offers unless they were desperate to make ~ 50k. I was turned off after my Director kept on bringing up my background. Stupid people make stupid ignorant and arrogant remarks. This is not a place for women. I advise my fellow ladies to be careful when you bend over as there are a lot of creepers here. These guys think we are stupid and don’t notice them giggling with each other. We hear you whispering “would you do her?” And see you in the corner of our eyes grabbing your old undersized cr---h to get laughs out of your buddies. This doesn’t make you a man…it makes you a pervert. No point of reporting as this is normal behavior. I noticed Bullying is acceptable behavior. Hope Phil stays and gets these old biased pervs out.

I had to look up the meaning. So Funny. "Karen is a pejorative term for a woman, usually White, perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal. The term is often portrayed in memes depicting white women who use their white privilege to demand their own way." You just nailed it. What about if you are a male named bob or norm? I'm white and unfortunately I have to admit this is reflective of many in supply chain especially of the Facebookin all day warehouse manager.

The "Worker" which adapted to be the "Pretender" ! Fake it until you make it! I wasted my time here. HR can cut half of the lazy longtime managers and directors and staff without Enbridge skipping a heartbeat. Cut the KAREN drama queens too! I recommend cutting heavy and start fresh. Keeping too many seasoned legacy Spectra will continue leaching toxicity to the "replacements". Just my advise. Company treats employees and contractors like cr-p...the workforce adapts and goes into self-preservation mode and the hostile work environment begins.

Culture of nepotism and racial bias is rampant. I agree! Loaded with Karens and good ol' boy types. For the ones who are curse people on here, you are the problem. Blaming these poor guys for Enbridge's low morale and high turnover is not going to solve things. Cleaning house at the middle manager level and practicing good corporate culture will! Respect and fairness in the workplace will solve things. If you disagree, I believe you're in the Karen or the biased white male middle age group. Just saying...it's probably true. Sad if you don't acknowledge it or pretend all is great.

What a bunch of spineless and manipulative cowards you s—t disturbers. . I’m not in supply chain but I’ve seen the results where working closely with us BUS they contain costs and solve sourcing problems. They’re service oriented and for high engagement marks. If you’re on the inside get the he-l out cause the only thing toxic about the place is your insecure, small minded personal failures.

I love it. The truth will set you free. I’ve seen people watch movies too. Way too many fake male and female Karen’s work here and are well protected. Not all…but many. For the most part, I think the best group is the category management folks.

Wow why are you criticizing supply chain? They pride themselves on doing a really good job and they praise themselves for doing the job that they’re supposed to do and get paid for. It is already given that in every company there are incompetent and inefficient workers but if you want to know where in supply chain take a look at the buying group. You will wonder why some of the transactional items takes forever to get done. What a bunch of fakes who likes to pretend they’re working, complaining how much of a workload they get but taking a total of 3 hours combined coffee break, lunch break, smoke/vape break and gossiping. Some of them are even watching movie during office hours. The so called “people leaders” try really hard to look good and the workers also try really hard to pretend they’re trying. But hey at the end of the day you just want the paycheck until you get a little older and a candidate for layoff. You just have to fake it to survive.

My advice is to leave this sh---y place. Stop being complacent! Anyone one under the age of 39 should rethink their career path long and hard if you continue “working” at this sh-t of an excuse department. For the Coogs interning….why….why are you desperate for sh---y pay & this sh---y corporate culture?? This is not an honest company…look past the fake appearances and analyze the behavior and misleading statements from leadership. Comb the internet and see all the labor issues that can coming mainly from the field and throughout the org. Enbridge is well known for their environmental violations. Is this the company you are giving your time for? You are going to lose your job one day, might as well leave sooner than later.

"This is a perfect example how sh*tty people can become once they work under this toxic environment. Just how they work, add no value!"

When I was with the company, I didn't worry about my value. I knew it was there, and I didn't need to be prodded to produce it. My complaint isn't based on some toxicity instilled from without. It comes from a good old healthy dose of Gen-X thinking. "Quit your whining!" is a phrase that comes to mind quite a lot.

It would be different if people were actually hard done by, but people working at Enbridge are generally not. Plenty of people succeed there.

And, to borrow a phrase from somebody lost in my memory, "People who complain about other people at work seem to do so a LOT." Some people don't realize that they see drama because they are carriers.

Great analysis on the SC floor. Bravo for speaking the truth. I fall into the 5th group. I haven’t been here that long but I’m not going to lower my ethics to fall into one of the toxic roles. I’m looking to take off for this horrible place. It’s ridiculous to stay here when there’s so many better opportunities elsewhere! Why would anyone below a director want to stay in a dead-end job instead of having a career?

On POINT! Sad but true. SC brings in the worst in people. Managers just manage people and do not lead. Right staff coverup mistakes from lower managers to avoid scrutiny by SC leadership. Hence the high turnover rate and dysfunctional teams. Sometimes it's better to cleanse the whole 7th floor and start fresh.

You know who falls under the toxic group or poor manager group if they leave comments such as this: "TLDR; "Everybody sucks but me." Good luck with that."

This is a well thought out desceiption that is on target for SC. The dept is a wreck and has been for at least 5 years. I don't see it improving anytime soon because it would need to start from scratch and there are too many people covering up the mess.
