Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Silent majority

I think most of us who work at EM are not as unhappy as posts here seem to indicate. Did you look at our stock recently? I'm personally happy with how things are run. Leadership had to make some tough decisions but at least we're seeing results. I might be worried about layoffs and PIPs, but that doesn't mean I'll deny the progress that's been made.

OP,
You should come out and name yourself. I’d be incredibly interested in knowing who you are and what you are smoking. I’d like some too if it makes me that delusional.

OP, you must have been sleeping with the members of MC to say what you are saying. You have def. earned the master koolaid drinker award. Go back to what you have been with the MC.

I might be worried about layoffs and pips while my company makes billions in profits but I’m happy. We know who got the 10% raise.

@OP. You are either young, naive, ignorant, or immature or any combination of these attributes. You have no clue of the lost Decade. Actually now the lost 1.5 Decades. Company stagnation and no real growth. Declining production and declining reserve replacement. Top tier technical talent leaving in droves. Lowest morale in 60 years. Cycles come and go. Lies and bad behavior are never forgotten. The lies and bad behaviors of the last 3 years have caused irreparable harm. Most retirees during last five years just shake their head in bewilderment and disappointment and are thankful they got their lump sums, and feel sorry that most employees will now never see a retirement lump sum payout if they still have more than 10 years to go before becoming retirement eligible. The now nearly lost two decades is unfortunately only 4 years away with no real sign that the company will be rediscovered. When the brutal truths were filtered from the MC, the sad fact is that leadership really appreciates the Jack Nicholson’s of the film world and the real world … sorry OP that either you really can’t handle the clear truths, or are so naive and immature that you have not heard these truths. $80-90 bbl covers the sins of leadership … this is the refrain every decade. Sad naive young employees such as OP just don’t get how the real world works. So OP .. just shut up.

I got laid-off by EM early 2021 (after passed the fake PIP). I loaded up EM stock on the cheap before that happened. Now, I can not click sell button fast enough. Why not when EM is paying you for doing nothing? EM stock goes to the moon, pls. LOL

Those who are content with their jobs (at EM) are "silent" minority.

@OP If you're one of the "majority", how many shares of EM stock do you own, at what price? LOL

Your attempt to silence the majority is futile. Go put your nose in any ho-e that makes it brown.

I think Biden is the one to thanks. The stock follows oil spot price.

XOM historically was about 1.2 x WTI price until about 10 years ago, then XOM was about 1.0 WTI. Post pandemic at about 0.75 x WTI. CVX premium has charted an almost opposite course. XOM return vs oil sector has lagged considerably the past 10 years.

The rising tide lifts even sunken ships.

“Silent majority”???!!!
So the attrition has been so bad that now boot licking managers and HiPos represent of majority of people working at EM?
But “silent” it is not. The “work” these people do is nothing but talking.

Pure management troll. It’s the “Happy Days Are Here Again” theme, warmly recommended by HR and mandatory for the management.
I hope you can put that on your PDS. Make sure to collect enough RSUs before the next downturn, buddy. You’ll need them when your sinecure is gone.

Just wan to clear up the company performance thing... Chevron is up nearly 20% in the past 5 years while, like someone else here said, XOM is still down under a 1%. So that's that.

OP, also people won't discuss their XOM grievances with you if you act like a XOM cheerleader. They just don't trust you.

Check out the 5 year XOM return, XOM still down -0.43%, S&P 500 up 92%. Stock needs to go a lot higher to make long term shareholders happy.

If anyone was happy, they would have bid in the UWAY auction to hang out with management.

Ahahah, the HR guy. How many EM employees do you think they own Company's stocks? Surely not the majority, some cannot even afford them.

I laughed. Stock holders control that. They write articles about how good the company is doing. So more people will buy stocks to line their pockets.

I’m assuming you own stock in XOM? You need to google about owning stock in the same company that’s supplying your paycheck. All the Enron employees wish they had…
