7% approval rating would mean it's a 93% disapprove of the CEO. With the employee to manager ratio shrinking by the week, it'll improve soon enough. Just like that stock price. TOODLES!

As per Glassdoor on 8/8/2020:

CEO approval rating = 7% (this is actually an improvement)

Employees who would recommend UP to a friend = 12%

Let this sink in: 97% of the people who work there disapprove of or dislike the CEO, and 88% wouldn’t tell anyone they cared about to apply there.

I think everyone knows what needs to change.

The manager at North Platte (initials are SH) who transferred from Pine Bluff got his degree from UTI. Of course he got into management the old fashioned way-under a desk.

Getting rid of unionized supervisors was the dumbest thing UP did. Most of the mangers cant handle the job. They can't program units into ILP right. Turnovers s— because most of the time they dont know what's going on. They are stretched so thin often running 3 or more work areas at once. The ones that were managers before think they are above being a supervisor but cant handle or actually do the job. They need the just pay the managers the print packets like they did before.

The testing program needs to be non punitive. Until then the managers will not be trusted. We all know there’s an unwritten quota. You can’t be a leader if you’re not trusted.

u p has not had a true manager since the s p takeover. if they don"t promote from within the ranks the railroad will be screwed up with mgrs with diplomas from "Univ of cracker Jack"

@OP: UP Knows exactly what is wrong with their culture and exactly what has to be done to change it. We all know that they won't do it, at least not while LF is Chair & CEO, so there's no point in discussing it.

A manager needs to be a leader that has their workers back, be there with them during tough times and is humble. A manager helps no matter what and can admit when he or she is wrong. Workers can have excellent ideas and solve issues sometimes better than managers they have to accept that. A manager stands in front of the workers and battles with them.
