Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Those who were not in this round of layoffs are also affected

For those of us who watched in horror as their entire team was cut, Walmart has still found a way to screw us. I lost 7 team members, only to be asked to change my role (unofficially, of course) from a manager to an individual contributor and do the work of those 7 people. When I asked for a package, I was of course denied. Nice way to treat those people you "value" and ask to stay behind to clean up the huge mess this has caused. No thank you.

I keep hearing that there will be more cuts at home office.

If you are in merchandising and haven’t seen the writing on the wall, you are an id–t.

  1. First they cut buyer time in chair bonuses.
  2. Then they forced merchandising/merch support to stay in place for a minimum of three years.
  3. Then they implemented rank and yank to thin the herd and fire people/cut their bonuses.
  4. They got rid of all 0f your support staff. Planners gone. Replenishment gutted. Merch assistants gone. Mod development planners gone. Pricing managers gone. Mod core gone. Mod execution gone. Merchandising execution gone. Private brands managers slashed.
  5. They’re trying to automate mod drawing and assortment selection. After they rolled out the FSS tool and the pricing tool, what happened? Oh. That’s right. They cut planners and pricing managers.

Do you see the handwriting on the wall yet? Sure there will be fewer mods for the stores. But the product is going to get old and even more boring than it already is (if that is possible).

Merchandising has been being whittled down for years now. If you’re in that area, time to get a plan B.

Here in NWA all the stores are going to all scan your own and no cashiers- so that gets rid of let’s say 50 people per store times 5,000 stores - 250,000 less cashiers if implemented chain wide that will see the boot. 😢

I wish Doug was a better CEO, but he is by far the worse.

I really don't understand why grown adults don't learn from those that have gone through this time and time again and put the warnings out there for all of you to follow and YOU still are puzzled why Walmart doesn't give a rat a$$ about you!

Isn't this why schools teach history to our future leaders ? So history doesn't repeat itself ?

Walmart is self imploding rapidly and when you decide to finally leave this c-ap hole company the other jobs will be taken up because you waited to long to get off your but to get another job.
