Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Bobbi Sonni is GONZO!

After 4.5 years of destroying this company they finally gave him the boot. I’m sure he is off to destroy more companies like in a bad Godzilla movie. How many more execs will follow him off the plank so GF’nK can bring in more of his cronies and milk this company dry?

He talks about returning profit in the next year. Wow, we haven’t seen that in years.

I’m so done with this BS and want out in the worst way. Please lay me off!!!!!!!

Much like sleep and night terrors, some of them are still in that reoccurring nightmare, either lacking the courage or forward momentum to make that transition back to reality. I’ll always have compassion for my ex colleagues that seem to stir in that environment, that ooze, with absolutely no future planning to GTFO. It’s a self induced coma.

There is nothing to complain, most people commenting here are already on new career paths. Most of us are just sad, that the ship that began sinking in 2015 is still sinking, most passengers got to safety already but someone had the grand idea to hire new Captain every year to try and keep it afloat.

Hitachi’s desire to become cloud centric company has been dismal. As for Hicham, he’s just a good talker with the ability to BS the Japanese with razzle dazzle fluff.

He used to work at KPMG before as well. By the way congratulations for the most viewed and most commented thread on this forum. I guess you are the original author of it.

Do you know when Hisham gets the boot? He got demoted to Hitachi Americas CEO after being its chairman. God knows why the Japanese like him.

Bobby resurfaced to do digital transformation at KMPG. Such a perfect fit for him to immerse himself with this corrupt company.

bud, i lost count of ex-Cog execs. Dont forget the Chief Revenue Officer, etc...from GL are also new execs hired from ex-Cog. I think his name is Raj something. Also I think he hired a number of Cog people under him. HV was already becoming a Cog shop, now it is a Cog soup.

They brought in 1 more ex-Cog person - RR - came in from a big 4 firm but is really GFK's best buddy from Cog

Bobby is a technologist NOT a good business leader. Now that he’s gone and Global Logic is in place, the fate of HV is grim. I predict that it will be sold off to the highest bidder to make up for that hefty $9.6B purchase price.

Global Logic just might be the Hometown Deli that Hitachi just purchased. Buyer beware.

HV didn’t pay three times the value for a company that claims to make under $1B. Hitachi Japan did.

I agree. Susan is the perfect example how Japan is clueless with ineffective executives.

Look the problem is with the Hitachi Japan, It is hiring /approving/promoting executives without doing any proper background check of their merits and accomplishments.

The problem is wide spread in industry today. It is difficult, even for a technical Genius to say his/her product/achievement is making $ billions to the company in linked in profile where as a sales/ marketing executives ( like GK) can say "Increased run-rate from $160 million annually to more than $1 billion in three years". see the other Hitachi executives profiles for better jokes.

Without a proper tools to check credibility of these executives and their individual worth instead of their claim of collective worth of the group they head, driving the good company to dust.

To all the good, struggling companies like Hitachi Vantara here is my humble request to Japan

1) Hire executives and give benefits/compensation/raises to the executives based on their individual merit than the collective claims.

2) A wrong direction of an individual employee is less expensive than an executive, So evaluate the performance of every executive quarterly instead of giving them a blanket time of 2/4 years.
hire them on a term basis.

3) Put your managers/executives to test, by putting their direction/accomplishment in a 360 degree peer review of all their employees & peers and provide them raises only after 100% agree.

4) Change all your executives to persons from an engineering background not an MBA and see the change. A non engineering executives making an engineering decision is the cause of demise of many good companies.

Thanks,

As Bobbi exits, they promoted Susan McLeod to SVP and two other useless people. We missed AOP target for the 2020 by 10%. 2021 is going to be a year of big changes with Global Logic at the controls. Buckle up everyone. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Should we trust GK who has been “kissing frogs” behind our backs? They over-paid by three times what this company was worth a couple of years ago. Global Logic’s workforce of 20K probably doesn’t need to worry, Hitachi just came in and paid all of the company’s debt. Hitachi will follow IBM’s lead and sell off the hardware business which will cease the existence of HV. So, to answer the question on whether to trust GK ..... the answer is No!

“We were looking for a while,” he said of the company’s hunt for the right acquisition. “Kiss many frogs, as they say.” .... GFK with regards to the GlobalLogic purchase.

GF’nK’s plan is to buy up all the leased equipment from the customers in exchange to run the data in the cloud. This probably has a better chance with GlobalLogic than with Hitachi Vantara on it’s own. Whatever happens it going to cost jobs and more likely at the HV side.

The Bobby and Brad show was a disaster from the start - both brought their sycophants with them, destroyed the HDS culture and left many failures in their wake. To finally draw (close) the curtain on the Bobby disaster was long overdue and any Executive bonus should be held by HV as restitution for his abject failure..

Just as someone had predicted in an earlier post, the end of HV will happen by the close of the fiscal year. Happy New Year everyone. We are done as a company. Anything GK has to say now will certainly ring hollow.

Hitachi Vantara LLC is the best company to work.

The winners in the deal include the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and investment firm Partners Group. Each owns nearly half of GlobalLogic, and each expects to net $3.8 billion in the sale. So they basically kissed that money good bye to make the deal. The losers are the Hitachi Vantara folks that will be forced to think this is another great company. This is the most non-innovated company I have ever worked for that has a habit of buying loser companies.

Now Hitachi just bought a cloud company for $9.6B for a company that claims to barely make $1B in revenue. Another blunder in the works.
