From what I see from most of the post on here with the spelling and incorrect sentence structure, I can see why some of you were passed over for a promotion.
Also, to the person who had the 17 year old high school student who did not get the job. Minors or those still in high school are not allowed to work certain hours and have a limit to the hours they can work. They also are not allowed to run any equipment i.e. compactors or even pallet jacks. This is federal labor law and also most states have even more strict laws when it comes to minors.

Applied for two separate Management Positions at Walmart, in both cases I made the short list and to the final interview process. Both times Director of that unit informed I performed outstanding on interviews and that my work experience was most impressive. However, I was ultimately not selected for both positions because Corporate Walmart told directors to select a minority. Listen, I’m all for the best candidate being selected regardless of race or gender, but to select candidates based on race or gender is absolutely discriminatory. I never understood why we all must indicate our race and gender on applications anyways, if people want to be treated equally then stop with the identifiable information and choose the best candidate regardless of race and gender. I believe each race and gender have very qualified candidates and no one should ever want to be awarded a position based on them being the desired race or color...shameless.
It sounds like I'm boycotting Walmart again. Thanks everybody.
I don't see racism as having a reverse it's a two way street. That said yes in Nelson B. C. Canada new management came in and suddenly instead of being multi cultural race etc it shifted decidedly to the middle East and though you have never done anything illegal never stolen or shoplifted if your on the pale side of the spectrum chances are you will be followed around the store by security it's horrible if you suffer PTSD or social anxiety you leave the store and spend the next few days trying to figure out why they are following you, because you have not done anything but spend money on their store tey follow you around every single time it's not you it's that your not middle eastern in decent I can see no other reason.
Walmart Canada is racist they are just the politically correct kind of racist.
Never worked at Walmart, but someone I work with now did, and said he was told that because he is older and White, he will never advance very much, and not to expect to climb high at the company. I need to know if this is true, because I will go right back to boycotting WM. I did it for 12 years because of the way they used to prefer Chinese-made goods. If this is true, I will boycott them again.
Walmart will soon be K mart and target will rule. Just look at kmarts issues and how hiring based on factors other then ability to preform lead to stores litteraly falling apart and being known for sub standard service. Do you trust your local Walmart is being cleaned properly and sanitized correctly? Just saying.
For two weeks, an underperforming manager off-site was misshipping loads due to gross negligence. I kept asking her to fix it and finally asked for an action plan. I even recorded the conversation where she went off on me. I went from no problems to orange level coaching for literally asking a person to do their job repeatedly, and any attempt in the coaching to explain was literally ignored.
She was black. I'm not.
That coaching saw me laid off today, 8 months from graduation and can't apply internally either. 4 years of hard work gone because she couldn't be bothered and apparently I wouldn't have.
Absolutely yes! Rosalind Brewer told us she was going to promote minorities ahead of everybody else and then she did it.
Absolutely! It's happened right here in Eastern NC.
My husband has been with the company for a number of years. Lots of folks start out working in the back room, but rarely last for long, so there is a big turnover and they often need help.
We have a 17 yo son who would like to work. Like my husband, our son would rather do physically demanding work than stand at a cash register. One of husband's supervisors asked him several months ago about whether or not he thinks our son would like to work there. Well, son applied, and THEN that same supervisor said he "looked up the rules" and that our son "needs to be 17 years old" to work in the back room. Ok, fair enough, I guess.
Son turned 17 in June, and when this fact was mentioned so they'd hopefully look at his application and maybe give him a call for an interview, the same supervisor said, "Ah, well, he's still in high school, so he couldn't work full-time, and wouldn't get many hours." Really? 🤔
Husband told me this evening that some new young guys have just started, and they were less than enthusiastic about working and didn't ask any questions about the job, where merchandise should go, etc. They even stated, "Man, I will be glad when school starts back!" And btw, they're black.
What a shame that this appears to be an example of the supervisor looking out for his own, so to speak. What else could it be?
I'm not a racist, and my perception of a person is based on their behavior/character. Well, my formerly good impression of the supervisor mentioned has plummeted.
Again, what a shame.
I applied at canal Winchester, Ohio and was told I had very high scores. They seemed very much like they wanted to hire me, but instead they hired person after person of color. 6 months went by and I never got a job and I must reapply. 14% of the US population is black, and Walmart now hires 22% black and 46 % of all color and they said recently, in light of BLM riots, that they were dedicating 500 million to a racial equity center to help blacks that they have treated badly and are going to increase hiring of blacks even more. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Rioting, suing, threatening by black groups, many of which are insidiously communistic anti American, has created absolute reverse racism at Walmart, and people need to start suing them for discriminating against whites to hire extremely abnormally high (based on population percentages) amounts of blacks.
My daughter applied at the Brookhaven Walmart store and I suggested that she not mark her race or gender. Her name is a give away but it is a name popular with African American females. She got the first interview and was told that she would be called. She never heard a word. She is very obviously Caucasian when you see her. My son marked his race and never got an interview and he had 2 years experience with Walmart and has been told to come back to both of those stores but he lives 1.5 hours away now. I have noticed an extreme imbalance when I go to the store. Why are whites not hired in Brookhaven?
Our local Walmart refuses to hire whites. We are in Mississippi. I mistakenly told my son to be honest on the application and mark his race and nothing. My daughter has a name that is common in many races and by not marking the race box for white she got a call. She was asked on the phone what race and never heard back.
It is so unfair! Target doesn’t do this from what I see.
I know an employee who is going through reverse discrimination now. They cut the person's hours and then wrote the person up for not having the work done. The employee constantly told the supervisor help was need. Of course, the black woman supervisor ignored the information. During the write up, the co-manager, (black woman), the manager (black woman), and the supervisor(again, a black woman,) all lied about everything. The supervisor said she knew nothing about needing help. Imagine that? A supervisor who doesn't know what's going on in her area, and the manager and co didn't care because all they cared about was writing up the white worker.
The word in the store is that the black manager intends to fire all the white men managers in the store. You guessed it, she's g–.
Systemic and continuing racism against whites by black managers in this store is rampant, but what do you do about it when corporate will back them up?
And they let black employees get away with coming in late or not coming in at all, even covering for them WITH pay. Even smelling pot on them. They sit around talking and on cell phones, and nothing is done, while the good employees with years of great service, many white, are harassed.
Walmart is a trash company, and something should be done.
There is no question that Walmart discriminates against whites. I have ever hard the minority management groups at Walmart brag about it. I currently work at Walmart and could write a book about the bad company practices against whites that have occurred over the last five years.
Im white in Canada and worked for Walmart in the past but I tried to reapply they won't hire me. I was just there today and I did not see ONE WHITE employee it's all minorities not born in canada. There service s—s. I wanted to try something on there is no one there but a lady walking by came and k o ked on some doors I guess they don't care about good service now. Also wAs looking for a bathing suit all the sizes and different styles were thrown together! I rarely go to Walmart because they don't hire whites and natives. Also some of the staff are racist and won't allow you to return an item even when you have a receipt!
If you used the coupons that are meant to be handed out to the customers then you should have been fired! That’s an integrity issue. You could have easily borrowed 50 cents from someone.
@EmeDh5B-h5vic - if you used a .50 cent coupon to pay for items (and the coupon was not for the items you purchased)....I'm sorry to tell you but that is THEFT and you DESERVED to be fired. As for the counterfeit money if you could truly tell it was counterfeit then there should have been a termination as well. If not, it looks like there should be some additional training.
Using a coupon for something other that what you are purchasing constitutes FRAUD and you got what you DESERVED.
I myself just went through reverse discrimination myself,i am actually looking into this lawsuit to get involved in it..i worked harder than most persons in the store i was..was promoted..and then after a short while...fired for using a 50 cent coupon so i could eat lunch....now here is the funny part..a black cashier.within 1 hour and 15 minutes one night..took 3 counterfeit 100 dollar bills and 1 20 dollar bill that said universal studios on it..he was black and is still there..i am white and was let go.this was just 1 example..and this part is even funnier....i wasnt even fired by someone who worked there..i was fired by a "BLACK" ap person who came in and said she saw this in the camera..which is not true, for if it were.most of the store would have been fired..all persons who worked at my store used those coupons at one time or another..so if she truely saw it in the camera, she would have seen the other folks use those coupons as well.but they were black and hispanic...and they to are still there.
TYPE LOUDER I CAN’T HEAR YOU
YES THERE IS RACE ISSUE AS FAR AS PROMOTIONS. GO INTO THE SOUTH WALMART STORES AND LOOK AT BADGES AND TITLES ENOUGH SAID.
Reading these comments, it’s clear that some of you were fired/laid off or are struggling at work because you’re not very smart, not very emotionally mature, and don’t communicate well. That isn’t a race, gender, or discrimination issue. Those are things you need to fix to stay employable.
But by all means, write a huge run-on rant full of typos and whining, telling me I’m wrong.
I was a Walmart employee for 14 years and my son was a Walmart employee for 13 years in Florida and they have now for the last six or seven years been eliminating white people and replacing them with Hispanic and Haitian and American black this store is in Florida and I don't know if it's happening all over but they are firing people that of the white race at a tremendous right and I've been told that other stores in the area are doing the same thing just talked to a lady the other day that work for them for 4 years and because of a disability with her shoulder she needed to have a back cash register and they came and told her that they had no record of a doctor saying that so she brought it in and showed her disability and then resign which is exactly what they wanted others they just Hound to death gather other employees of color or brace to turn around and lie against the person to get them fired if that person won't quit which was my case they're constantly changing managers sending one store manager through till that person eliminate everybody white and then sending them to another store to do the same thing this is been going on for years would start a soup for reverse discrimination but I didn't know if anybody would know what to do I'm poor I can't afford a lawyer
Walmart in my neighborhood in FLA. is entirely black and Haitian. I've been told by customers to be quiet because "nobody understands" (the worker who took my entire cart back to customer service FILLED with groceries while I walked away to get cream)....the worker couldn't (or acted like they couldn't) understand why I was bothered. CONSTANTLY feel minority white in the store, which is 5 minutes from my home. I'm DONE shopping there. I would be if they were any other color too!
I just came from buying a few groceries at Walmart on Federal and Evans in Denver Co. I am white, the neighborhood I would say is now minority. I'm about to check out and saw a security or someone that does that standing near me at checkout, as I'm leaving this woman follows me out the store and watched me until I got in my car and left. I feel this happens in other primarily minority driven retail stores, its pretty sick just because your white in a minority populated place your suspect, its not pleasant but human nature now, I guess
I Been told EEOC is why their hands are tide so we do the work and they break and no different then the white trash crying. The reason is the white trash manager's are to poor trained to deal with discipline just smoke up the a-- and propaganda or sleeping with staff. A multibillion dollar morally bankrupt company of s-xual degenerate's. And they want to welcome home those who served yet another 13 year war to that. I barely can do it with what I call P.M.S. sounds scary to me then P.T.D.S.!
Of course there's reverse discrimination. blacks are coddled at Walmart. I work harder than at least two of them put together. Managers protect them and don't make them do the work that I have to do. Can I get in on the lawsuit please?
Yes, I know it is possible because I am going through it.
Discrimination is DISCRIMINATION no matter the color of someone's skin!!!
Agreed. If you still have doubts that reverse discrimination doesn't exist at WM, just Google Rosilyn Brewer's comment about "Hating White Men." Word has it that she, along with many, many other black executives were put there for one reason only: to make WM look "diverse". They weren't promoted because of their skills or experience. And Wall Street wonders why the stock keeps dropping??
Walmart is investing money in a "diversity" department. The company has started believing that hiring women and minorities is more important than hiring the most qualified individuals.
It's not a good time to be a straight white male at Walmart home office. You aren't getting promoted. It's a bit out of control.
I'll make it simple for you - if you are white, and if it's assumed that whites discriminate, a reverse discrimination case would be the one where the other ethnic or racial groups would to discriminate against a white person. I am yet to see this but it's theoretically possible. I am white and work with mostly white folks, it'll be very hard for someone to discriminate against me, however in a geography or department where a different ethnic group may be dominant (e.g. #Indians in IT) I can see #reversediscrimination as something that's absolutely possible. Have you had a different experience?
Reverse discrimination is discrimination against members of a dominant or majority group in favor of members of a minority or historically disadvantaged group. Source: Wikipedia
