Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Are you being paid for all time worked?

Since Covid and work from home started - are you working extra hours without pay? I did. We can only meet metrics or handle work/life by working outside our shifts. In the beginning there was understanding and "flexibility". Now we have no flexibility even though I still have family getting sick and children remote learning. I tried to explain. Not getting any help. Found out that we should have been paid for all the extra hours we put in since March trying to show that work from home could work. Seems like the only answer if there is no job because I can't adhere to a rigid schedule until schools open up.

@9xvw this is spot on. I have been telling my timecard employees if you work it better be on your timecard. I don't work for free and I don't expect my employees to either.

If you are being told not to submit OT hours that you are actually working, you should report it to the Compliance & Ethics hotline. That would be a violation of wage and hour laws and illegal.

Used to be a showroom floor with high end vehicles. Now, it's a junk yard of subcompact garbage with no salvageable parts. What a disgusting delusional place to work. Everyone take your meds, shut your mouth, and meet your unattainable goals. Sickening. Humanity and inclusion not allowed.

@7aee you are a douche bag. Enjoy your cubicle prison in a hub. When WFH ends the vast majority of us will gladly move on. The data shows that 40% of office workers have already said WFM is non-negotiable and will leave to go work for companies that offer it. State Farm would be wise to take notice.

Hope ya get picked for one of the Hubs - then you won't have as many pesky distractions
Ya know, when WFH ends.

Like I said before, diversity without inclusion is hypocrisy. Can't you see it yet?

So glad to be gone. It will never be what it once was. Too much anger, hate, selfishness, and mental illness. Once they reign in the totalitarian cancel culture they might be onto something that will work. So very sad.

According to them: The beatings will continue until the attitude of the minions improve. Heard that and even saw the sign in mgmts office.

We are Time Card Employees Working Hours but being told we can't log in overtime - but cannot get our job done without doing it. It is a total catch 22. You cannot meet the metrics they want working the time they alot. I think most mangers are looking the other way - they just want us to meet the metrics to get the numbers that keep them out of trouble. I don't care. I want my job. But I do agree it isn't really right. But we all do what we need to do....

SF needs to learn you catch more bees with honey than with metrics. When employees are happy profits increase and customer satisfaction is down. They haven't learned service IS NOT a process. Quality is not production.

The answer to this is: It depends! Do they "like" you and do you "fit in"? So much for inclusion. Smoke and mirrors.

@gyw “are you actually working all the time you’re paid”

When you’re in claims, you had better be. You don’t get away with not working all the time. There are methods to confirm a person is working, or not, when they are supposed to be.

This might be why OP is feeling the heat. Your boss doesn’t care if you have a bunch of little b–tards at home anymore. It’s been the norm for almost a full year soon.

Good advice. The sword goes both ways on this.

To the OP and the one talking to a lawyer, are you timecard or salaried? If you are salaried I am not sure you will be successful but if you are timecard watch out for the code of conduct investigation when you get hit with the fact you had to complete our timecard and pay policy as compliance each year. If you are working and not putting it on your timecard that is a CoC violation and they can use it to term you in a heartbeat.

The other question is “are you actually working all the time you’re paid for?” You cannot honestly tell me that everybody is.

I am talking to a lawyer next week on this topic. I think they owe us back wages.

Let's speak truth. State Farm is oligarch tech. They consider you a minion and you are disposable. PERIOD! You are nothing to them. If big tech can cut off your freedom of speech, they can too. The only reason they are showing it now is simple. They are afraid and rightly so! State Farm is employing the same behaviors because they have bought into a very dark world that anyone with a common sense troglodyte brain can see.......all about me and screw you. Anyone outside that circle is dismissed and considered stupid or a threat to their existence. All we can do is pray that someday their elitist better than thou attitude will crash. If you look around some of it already has. More to come. Keep your faith in God! He always wins over evil.

Check out Liberty Mutual. They pay overtime when necessary, and actually treat employees like adults and not like school children. They have flexibility like State Farm used to have. Not perfect of course, but much better than State Farm, which has become a joke for the way they treat employees
