Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Avaya Down Under

Meanwhile, Avaya's woes are so bad in Australia/New Zealand, it's taken over 12-months to find someone to back fill the top role (given the ever revolving MD door). Given the Avaya crisis, you'd expect the successor to have proven MD track record and pedigree, not an internal promotion from their services team.
Since 2000, there's been 11 MD's (Mssrs: Weeks, Taya, Hurt, Wells, Seeto, Gentry, Simonsen, Sheard, Chidiac, Vatcher, Beverakis) all tasked with turning the business around...
You'd think at least one of them would've made a difference right?

Carlton Taya was so good (even during Avaya's post spin-off halcyon days 2001-2009), he was asked to leave Avaya!

'He’s actually been in place for most of the year'

That's exactly the point in question. So, working as unofficial MD for most of the year has achieved what? These country leaders are more than useless as they burn money and deliver nothing!!

It does matter who you hire, they still have to follow the lead of the Sultan of Dubai

If you employ cannibals don’t be surprised when your business has been eaten. Poor new guy, with no business left and most of team gone he really will be running fast just to stay in same place, but with a services background he is more likely to be liked by customers. Is it too late? Guess we will find out.

Must be so frustrating to try to navigate everything. We will do more to engage our colleagues around the world.

You only need to look at who the Oceania leadership report to to understand why no one has been or will be successful........
