Pro-life people should definitely avoid taking the vax because the limited testing involved fetal cells.

Good for ConocoPhillips. It is about time companies start doing this. This is meant to drive the point home of how the non-Vaxers are ruining everything. Right now they can require the vaccine but they don’t. Hopefully more companies will start making it mandatory. They already require safety certifications for certain jobs. There is no difference with the covid vaccine. It is called HSE. What do think the “H” stands for, Have It Your Way?

A friend at Conoco said they received an email about those that have the vaccine to voluntarily let HR know. So how does that work? At what point does HR expand that to other diseases, and in the end you are filling out pre-employment forms that want to know all your illnesses like high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. I received the vaccine back in March, and that that was my choice and the business of nobody else. I will get a booster shot as well if needed, but should we all have to report that to HR? Before you say yes to that you really need to think hard.

This is not going to turn out that well in the near term. The people who decided not to get vaccinated are to blame. The children are now at risk because of irresponsible adults.

Friend of mine got an email from HR of the company he works for. It said for everyone to work from home and they had two weeks to get the vaccine, and then all would return to the office. It did not say what would happen to those that did not get the vaccine, but he felt it probably means that will be fired unless they have a good reason not to get the shot. Don’t be surprised if this does not become the norm.

Why has the Pfizer CEO NOT taken the vaccine? Why US but not them. Masks for thee but not us.

If it is that important to get the vaccine & wear a mask to keep the vaccinated from spreading variants because of increased antibody enhancement caused by the vaccines why has the CDC NOT mandated vaccines for their own employees? Why have less than 50% of CDC employees elected to get the vaccines. OXY needs to stay out of mandating these experimental and untested shots. WE are the subjects. No test animals like as with other vaccine testing, etc. Too many unknowns. I am not an anti vaxxer. I am vaxxed and worried about what is next. Found out too late.

I am listening and this is what I keep hearing:

Then: I am mad because I don't want to wear a mask (that will protect others)
Now: I am mad that vaccinated people don't want to wear a mask (that will protect you)

I agree with @MIT, why didn't he post the original study from MIT that was about Data Visualization... rather than posting the article from a blogger of Right Wing Nut House - (no, actually that is real). Confirmation Bias much? Stop making connections to fit your narrative and own the fact that you don't know everything. I know the real world is a scary place but it's time to grow up. Maybe read some Brene Brown??

Soo tired of the 99% survival rate being thrown down like it's Thor's hammer - why not finish reading the articles before you share -

Let's define survival:
That 99% contains a wide variety of unpleasant, and even near-fatal experiences, including long-term hospital, stays, and lingering effects, even after mild infection.

Some people are experiencing a range of new or ongoing symptoms that can last weeks or months after first being infected with the virus that causes COVID-19.

Unlike some of the other types of post-COVID conditions that only tend to occur in people who have had severe illness, these symptoms can happen to anyone who has had COVID-19, even if the illness was mild, or if they had no initial symptoms. People commonly report experiencing different combinations of the following symptoms:

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Tiredness or fatigue
Symptoms that get worse after physical or mental activities
Difficulty thinking or concentrating (sometimes referred to as “brain fog”)
Cough
Chest or stomach pain
Headache
Fast-beating or pounding heart (also known as heart palpitations)
Jo--t or muscle pain
Pins-and-needles feeling
Diarrhea
Sleep problems
Fever
Dizziness on standing (lightheadedness)
Rash
Mood changes
Change in smell or taste
Changes in period cycles

NO THANK YOU, being sick for months, Who the f- has time for that, I don't.

Also Here is an AP Fact Check link on the 99% Survival rate that is always being taken out of context.

So OXY is going to fire people who have an autoimmune issue and have been recommended by their Dr NOT to take the covid jabs because can cause excaberation and or flareups of the autoimmune condition that is under control.

This is ridiculous and OXY should WAIT for a good while as more and more info on these jabs are coming out, etc. These companies requiring the jabs are actually taking on more liabilities.

I bet within two weeks Oxy will require the vaccine. The administration knows they can't push it out on everyone and they are getting the likes of Walmart requiring their employees get the vaccine. You can always turn it down, but you can also get fired for not getting the vaccine. In Texas the employers have all the rights and not the employees.

Whoever posted this is really confused. The states with low vaccination rates are seeing the virus explode. Spread of the virus is lower in high vaccine rate states.
The vaccinated people are not the super spreaders and the vaccine did not cause additional exposure or spread of the virus.
Get the vaccine, wear your mask and get back to the office. Even more puzzling to me is how do people with such a low comprehension capacity for facts and statistics remain employed?

We already test people for substances of abuse prior to employment and to stay employed. Some substances are far less harmful when used responsibly than spreading the covid virus. How is asking for vaccine verification any different from substance testing?

The reason why we care even though overall death rate is low is because the deaths of the unvaccinated can be stopped. We have the means with the vaccination. Human life has a high value and we want to keep it that way. One more comment. The pro-life people damn well better be getting the vaccine. Otherwise I would call them extreme hypocrites.

I have had the vax (J+J) but I wouldn't respect the company asking me for proof of vaccination as a condition of employment. It's none of their business and a slippery slope which will lead to all communicable diseases being declared a hazard and when they have done that it'll be mental health. We'll end up with more HSE, HR and lawyers on the payroll than scientists, geologists, engineers and operations staff maybe we have already who knows.

It turns out that those vaccinated are super spreaders now per CDC which is why everyone is asked to wear a mask. I wonder what employers are going to do now since they were the ones encouraging employees to take the vaccine.

Obviously, there is no transparency behind reasons for putting on the mask, taking it off and then putting it back on. It just means the vaccine is now more of a liability than a cure but then is not a cure since many of those vaccinated are still getting COVID.

And are we going to ki-l off all the animals that carry COVID? Seems those already vaccinated can get COVID so what's the point? Those people who died from the vaccine really died for nothing. Why are we making such a big deal over COVID with 99% survival rate? You would think the obituaries would be the size of the Bible the way these policy makers carry on. It's actually around the same number of pages as last year and the year before and the year before that.

Everyone in this country need to take vaccine unless they are immuno-compromised. The ones not taking vaccines for any other reason need to wear a mask and get tested weekly at their expense. It’s not your faking opinion id--ts it’s the need of society. Your orange leaders whole family took it the moment it was offered.

Vaccination should be required for working in any Oxy facility. Anyone not able (or not willing) to comply should be required to wear a mask and be tested every Monday. This policy is reasonable.

Then it is very simple and that is work from home or all come in. If people are not going to get vaccinated then so be it. With breakthrough cases being vaccinated does not mean you won’t get Covid or can’t transmit Covid. Either put us all together or work from home, but make a decision as a company and stick with it. Either way just make a decision and don’t be like the ever changing government suggestions and mandates. If nothing else rotate in the office and keep the employees in the office at a low count.

If it was up to me everyone at Oxy would be required to get the vaccine or they don’t work for the company. People with documented medical reasons vetted by a third party would be excluded from this requirement. Those excluded would be required to undergo testing. It really is that simple. Sue the company if you don’t like it. Management would have to show some real leadership for this to work.

With all the disinformation, misinformation and this whole COVID thing so highly politicized who in their right mind would trust anything and take an experimental product that already has many documented deaths and disabilities from it. Those young people you speak of who were unvaccinated and got Covid could have survived given the right kind of medical treatment. They should have had access to these two medicines and the MATCH protocol here in Houston UMC Hospital. Those doctors should not have let those people end up on ventilators and should be held accountable. Early treatment for Covid has a 100% survival rate!

Man, are you ignorant. Enough with the faux re----k talk on this thread too. It sounds incredibly stupid. 1. Does anybody think this has anything to do with anybody cheating? Who would be d-mb enough to walk around with no mask knowing they hadn't uploaded a card? 2. Vaccine hesitancy isn't exclusively for "ignorant" or "right-wing" people (see article below that quotes a MIT study). Some people have underlying conditions and are following their own doctor's orders. It's well-known that many medical professionals refuse these shots. The VAERS database, if any of you jeering hostile types have heard of it, records thousands of deaths and adverse reactions related to receiving these shots. These shots aren't like a tetanus shot. The long-term effects are unknown, and clearly the short-term effects for some were a big surprise. For example, blood clotting and cases of heart enlargement are well-documented vaccine reactions. Those kind of reports tend to worry some people with underlying conditions. 3. I'm tired of people ridiculing any news source save CNN/ABC/NBC/CBS as "far-right". The aforementioned ones are all so similar they may as well be the same company. Doesn't that bother anybody? What happened to intellectual curiosity and listening to different viewpoints and stories from varied sources? 4. This sticker edict, I think, isn't to make it easier for security people in the hall to enforce mask wearing. Rather, it's to ratchet up the pressure on unvaccinated to fall in line. The company clearly wants everybody vaccinated, so why not just come out and say this? How about another sticker for people who have a valid underlying condition and have uploaded a doctor's opinion? I don't actually believe in this sticker nonsense, but the cruel dismissiveness of people's legitimate fears from people who likely have very little knowledge, gained only from one news source, is heartbreaking. All this talk about "get vaccinated to save others' lives" rings hollow. The truth is none of you know. Clearly the government doesn't even know. Now we have "Delta". One day you hear that it's more deadly. The next day you hear it's less deadly but spreads easier. One day the shots are effective against it too. The next day you hear that the vaccinated not only contract and spread it, but do more so than the unvaccinated. Early on, we were told the vaccines were highly effective and would prevent us from contracting the COVID-19. Oops, now the shots don't prevent you from getting COVID-19 but lessen the severity. That's fine, but that's not really a vaccine then, is it? Masks work. Masks don't work. Wear 2 of them. You don't need them outside. You need them outside. The vaccinated can take them off everywhere. Wait, the vaccinated need to wear them again. Let's all wear them in the building again until we can get stickers. Wait, what was the purpose of uploading cards again? Do the security guards act as hall monitors now? 5. There are documented effective treatments for COVID-19, but Fauci and others did their best to squelch that information. All that mattered were the vaccines. What kind of doctor does that? I have read or heard about case after case where people successfully recovered after receiving treatment using protocols of medicines that have existed for a long time. These protocols were ignored or ridiculed by the mainstream "experts". Effective vaccines are great, but how effective are these? Also, they're not a "treatment". Countless people were terrified and couldn't wait for the vaccines to be rushed out not even knowing that effective treatments existed should you get the virus in the meantime. Also, natural immunity and acquired immunity have been totally discounted. People who recovered from COVID-19 have a natural immunity that's better than a shot would have given them, yet they're pressured to take the shot anyway. The blunt, unsophisticated approach being taken to blanket-vaccinate everybody should make anybody reasonable stop and think.

Hopefully soon. I understand people not wanting it, but not to get it is worse. There are chances it will make you sick, but for the whole of society we need to all take it if we can. Those that are medically unable should be able to work from home. Now we are being told it is a good idea to still wear a mask if you have been vaccinated to protect the unvaccinated, and I call BS on that. If a person is healthy and does not want the vaccine they need to not work at Oxy. I have seen first hand young people unvaccinated get Covid and by then it is too late. I have also heard doctors that say the saddest thing they see are people on ventilators and dying that are asking for the vaccine, and the doctors have to tell them it would not help them at that point. Don't be one of those laying on your death bed wishing you had taken it. I am 63 and other than getting a little tired the vaccine did not take me down. Please for yourself and your co-workers and families get the vaccine. The virus will do a lot more to you than any vaccine. Push all the politics aside and take care of yourself, because their is not one politician that will shed a tear when you or a family member are dead.
