The good news is that this pandemic revealed the bunch of paranoid anti-social people around us who absolutely hate Science, immigrants, people who don't look/think like them and call everything they don't like/don't understand "Communism". We are getting rid of all of them one way or another.

What a refreshing work environment we will have! No more toxic paranoid people! Everyone wins.

@8fep,

You are more than welcome to go work in an office.
Just don't expect everyone to feel the same as you.
The majority of people with covid right now were previously vaccinated.
Their masked and vaxed theory is debunked.

BTW, pay me a tiny % of what NFL players make, I gladly take the risk.

Right??? There were 10 NFL games yesterday with an average of 60k people in attendance. How many of them was a " I'm quitting if we get rid of WFH" So much hypocrisy

For all the tech people worried about returning to the office because of the pandemic, how did workers at stores like grocery, gas, and home improvement survive?

Uh oh, cognitive dissonance.

Office is done, stick a fork in it.
Open seating office would be a super spreader situation.
Vaxed, masked and 6ft apart would make 0 difference.
Quit fooling yourself, this virus finds all.

Did you even read the Israel study?
The natural immunity they are talking about is if you caught covid and survived your immunity is better than the Pfizer vaccine.
The key is you had to survive it in the first place.

Don’t apply to Google They are implementing even harder than IBM

While much of the tech industry continues to roll back return-to-work plans, Google (GOOG, GOOGL) is requiring its workforce to come into physical offices three days per week at some point in 2022. It's also showing little patience for employees that refuse to get vaccines. According to internal documents viewed by CNBC, Google has told its workers that they will lose pay, and will eventually be fired, if they don't adhere to the company's COVID-19 vaccination policy.

You are clearly a fool.
and your comment
"Even if there are only 10K left working in America, there is no need for the antediluvian "It's my right to plug up the ICU"

once again shows your left wing, MSM type of statements to push out fake information and I will not let facts get in the way of what I write.

@2elc+1egj3hog Whisper on a scream.... doesn't change a thing. And the thing is.... the pro-virus crowd is done. We don't need them around anyhow. (Blatant ripoff of Lyndyrd S....awesome) Even if there are only 10K left working in America, there is no need for the antediluvian "It's my right to plug up the ICU" crowd. (And there are a lot more than 10K.) You guys should just go do your John Galt thing somewhere else. The key here is: you don't have a home in software ANYWHERE. Please... apply elsewhere. Not that I want you gone (though I do) but you have no chance. It's over for your lot. No one in North America want to deal with your psychic nightmares.

The liberal Covidiots and Maskholes are in full force today, spreading their leftist lies on the layoff forum once again. I'm convinced at this point that these folks are the spreadsheet pushers that have nothing better to do for 8 hours/day, so they come here and spew their hate. Once they return to the office full time in January, they will be too busy hanging around the water cooler and taking 3 hour lunches.

"Oh dear. Six whole hundred employees, more or less. Out of hundreds of thousands."

IBM does NOT have hundreds of thousands of employees in the US. This was a US based letter against the federal mandates

and if you read the start of the article it states
"Against Federal Mandates, an action committee for US IBM employees "

so you are doing nothing different than the MSM and going for the sensation of stating a big number that is fake news.

Sigh. Sure enough, same lies all over again.

" Just this one since it 1) doesnt work"

Same lie again. It works better than many of the vaccines you've previously taken without complaint. (Fun fact: the older shingles vaccine was a little more than 50% effective, and the mumps vaccine most of got as part of the MMR series is 88% effective.)

"and 2) was created for a virus that has a 99.8% recovery rate,"

Also a lie. Almost 800,000 are already dead in America alone. That's over 1 person in 500. In some states (Alabama, for instance), it's over 1 in 300. And we're nowhere near done yet. And that doesn't even account for the lingering symptoms post-Covid. But you're OK to just shrug that off?

By the way, the "recovery rate" (i.e. not dying) for mumps is 99.996% [fewer than 4 deaths in 100,000], but you were still vaccinated against it.

In your theory, why then did multiple companies invest huge amounts of money to develop vaccines in record time? Why did governments all over the world of every political color go to such lengths to promote vaccination and other mitigation? Why are the hospital ICUs so full of Covid patients that people with other serious conditions are being crowded out? Do you think that there is some global conspiracy to subject us all to an unnecessary vaccine, and that every government, pharmaceutical firm, doctor, researcher, and public health official around the globe is on this conspiracy (for what gain, I have no idea)? And just a few brave patriots have figured them out, protecting what they imagine their "constitutional rights" to be?

Do you have any idea how absurd that sounds when you say it out loud?

The reality is that you have been lied to by people with a political agenda - people who themselves were among the first to get vaxxed, and many of them working at companies such as Fox News THAT HAS HAD A VACCINE MANDATE FOR MANY MONTHS NOW.

Look, I understand that cognitive dissonance is hard, and the road that you've gone down is hard one to come back from. But to any reasonable outsider, your position is objectively absurd. Let it go.

@1yfn+1egj3hog: The correct term is "pro-Constitutional Rights." I know lots of folks who dont want the vaccine. They dont have a problem with vaccines in general. Just this one since it 1) doesnt work and 2) was created for a virus that has a 99.8% recovery rate, but please....you do you.

If a company demands I do anything aside from work for pay, I'll demand a significant salary increase. If I don't get a raise for my added effort in such a scenario, I will leave the company.

That is precisely what I had planned on doing with IBM. However, after 10 years, the company placed me in Kyndryl's loving arms. I'll have to see where that corrupt road to nowhere goes. Regardless, Kyndryl pushed out a survey to see how all of its employees felt about a corporate vaccine mandate, saw which way the wind was blowing and rolled out a slightly less Pfizer friendly edict. So I dodged the proverbial bullet, once again.

IBM's policy requires employees to be vaccinated whether they work in office or from home, which is absurd. If one always works from home, IBM has no legitimate say regarding one's vaccination status. What IBM and many other companies and governments are doing is a coordinated effort to starve people into compliance. It's disgusting. What's even more grotesque is how e everyone who is already vaccinated is so nonchalant regarding such repugnant exhibitions. A pulse indicates one is alive, but it doesn't necessarily indicate one is human. Such people are disgusting. We've seen state sanctioned segregation before and it never ends well. In some regions, the literal internment camps are already in place and being filled.

It is clear the so called vaccines are ineffective in mitigating transmission, and thus one's vaccination status is irrelevant to everyone but the individual recipient. Enjoy having booster shots four or more times a year for the rest of your lives, obedient slaves.

You should really stop looking down your noses at people and instead look in the mirror. Otherwise, the blood will be on your hands. As it has always been, those who look the other way will not be held to account; not by government and not by your zombie Jesus anyway.

There are however other means.

I am everyone and I am no one :(

Never heard of "The Layoff" until today; it seems there's no limit to the number of safe spaces and echo chambers needed by the snowflake leftists to go cry on/in. Judging by the comments on this article and a quick review of other headlines, here's another one.

Thumbs up to the patriots at IBM, small as their numbers may be, who are standing up against tyranny and the large and/or loud peanut gallery who can't abide dissenting opinions because their small minds have no room for anything outside the party line. Victory is already yours, no matter the outcome of this battle.

"an experimental vaccine that has resulted in thousands of deaths and hundreds of thousands of adverse reactions"

Yet again the pro-virus people repeat the same lies, because they don't have any truth on their side. It doesn't matter how often the lies are pointed out, they just go on repeating them.

Let me repeat that: IF THEY HAD A VALID CASE, THEY WOULDN'T NEED THE LIES.

(Facts: nobody is being given an "experimental" vaccine. There are not "thousands of deaths" that presumably are being covered up by a complicit media conspiracy. There are, however, more than 700,000 dead from Covid in the US alone).

This thread is a great example of what has become of IBM. A once great and forward thinking company seems to now have a excess of whining losers who want to perpetuate a pandemic just so they can throw tantrums. You’re pathetic. Go make IBM competitive again. After you get your damned shot. Losers.

This is a global medical takeover of the planet via this obviously fake pan-demic. Kudos to those IBMers who are standing up to the Totalitarians like AK. For the rest of the IBMers, keep lining up for endless vaxx shots. And they will be endless. At least 5-7 shots next year per Anthony Fauci. Makes total sense to keep getting revaccinated every few months just to be safe. But I wonder what is in those untested shots.
