Yeh sure management says they hire the most competent person for the job especially when competent means blonde; around age 30; tight, tiny and t$ts on a stick! LOL!

@8fkl, I don't give a flying flip if the person is a black fruit with purple hair as long as he/she was the best person for the job, is fully competent and was not selected based on diversity only regardless of ability.

I would never fly on a plane without a white male pilot with some gray hair.

@7tpm, Yes, Agree 100%, every situation these days does not have to be a diversity lesson or an outlet for some useless virtue signaling which mostly comes hypocritically from people who possess no such virtue. I prefer my pilots (and doctors, police, pharmacists, etc.) more competent than diverse, thank you very much!

Fascinating that one a website theoretically about layoffs, where it’s mostly sh–t posts about personal grievances, the rare question about layoffs comes up...and no one has anything useful to add.

We don’t deserve the internet

I consider myself open–minded but I've never heard of any particular sensible reasoning why diversity alone is a plus the way it's being presented. That is not a big thing in other countries. Is there diversity in the NBA and other sports and do the teams represent the breakdown of the rest of society? Do we want that? Now equal consideration for qualified persons, sure. There are a lot of other areas that I would prefer not to have forced diversity just for diversity's sake such as the recent one about airline pilots. I much prefer the most capable pilot, I don't care if he/she's a green Martian.

What about the uptick in diversity that MW spoke of last year? Isn't that a plus?

@5ign, Did you quit already or just get laid off? I am quite happy with my current job in the O & G industry and am amply compensated. Life couldn't be better. That's why I'm wondering about people like you who are so bitter on this site and apparently do nothing about it except whine and complain.

As many as they want to spin it as. CEOs have to spin the results just like we do on our weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual report to our management.

I remember they did the same thing at the Texaco merger so the Chevron employees not selected for jobs could not file lawsuits claiming they were let go because the severance was lower and saved money.

The Noble COC Severance is 3 weeks per year of service which is precisely what drove Chevron to offer this figure. Chevron employees are basically getting COC enhanced severance, just like they did in 2001. It is good to Oct 2022, two years after the Noble deal, per the Chevron HR public web site.

All NBLX staff is out the door to make room for smarter CVX folks. You are just like A-Rod to J-Lo, now undesirable.
