Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

CEO on CNBC

TC seems to stutter a lot in this video, he isn't his smooth talking used car salesperson we are used to. If revenue won't increase until AI integrated heavily into consumer electronics that could be a while out and lean times until then. Doesn't seem like we have a plan for success anytime soon but as always, he is happy to be in the spotlight, however, he certainly didn't have any useful things to say overall.

He is the go to because he is the only one who will….. all the others wouldn’t be caught dead doing the dog and pony show… but TC believes it will help our branding…. But really it comes across as desperate

Maybe it’s me, but I’ve never classified him as a great public speaker. In GlobalCasts of the past, he could never get a sentence out smoothly, even if it was clearly scripted. I’m rather shocked he’s become the go-to talking head of the industry in the US, because he’s kind of painful to listen to.

AI is their new “MacGuffin“ for GF success and also to shift blame. Before that it was crypto based applications and before that automotive, etc.You can go back through years and read these statements and they are nearly identical every time; if x gets integrated then we will finally turn the corner! AI just gave them a new scapegoat to latch onto.
